I found out this morning that I have to have my tonsils taken out. One of them is swollen to the size of a grape. Anywho - the doctor said it will be painful and everything because the older you get the worse it gets.......so here is my question.....has anyone had their tonsils taken out when they were around my age (i'm about to be 22)? I wanna get an idea of how long I will have to be outta work, etc.

Thanks in advance!

wisdom teeth aren't bad - i had mine removed when i was like 13 or 14. you will just have really chubby cheeks for a few days, lol.

i'm not too worried about the tonsils - just curious how long i will be outta work, etc.

My cheeks didn't get chuby when I had all 4 of mine pulled... The only time they were fat was on the way home beacause of the gauze. Soon as I got home I tried to lay down and be lazy and relax... ended up calling one of my friends at the time and went shopping instead...

Still have my tonsils though... call the doctor who is doing the procedure, they should be able to give you an average of how long people should ask from work. But I would guess you wouldn't be able to talk for a few days...

yea, my cheeks got a little swollen from my wisdom teeth - but not too bad because i already have chubby cheeks. most people get really chubby cheeks tho, i just got lucky

i have to go see the ENT doctor next week to find out all the details, just wanted to check with people on here to go ahead and get an idea.

Couple days I would think, it'll be sore for a couple weeks. Guess it really depends on how much you have to talk at work.

i had mine removed about 5 years ago "age of 20" before you go under they'll give you this tiny ass pill and 20 sec's later you'll be feeling REALLY GOOD
