1st mod for any turbocharged VW/Audi should be a chip. Especially for the S4...GIAC claims 70-80hp and 80-90lbs gain from the chip alone.

Why not get fuel management instead of a chip? So you can actually tune it down the road and not waste your money on a chip...

There's no tuners that specialize in Audi/Vw in ATL....u have to go out of state to do that...thats why ppl stick with just chip

But what exactly do u want to know about the s4 more info please i can help u in reference to what u wnat done

b/c the chip does everything for the car. your not going to make better numbers w/ any other combination as you can w/ just a 500$ flash upgrade. i would never suggest any form of management until you go BT. :goodjob:

1st mod should be GIAC + DV
2nd mod should be intake or k&n filter
3rd exhaust + dp
4th whatever you want.

call EUROTECH 770-794-7240 in Marietta tell them paul from IA sent ya :goodjob:

Don't waste any money, and start off with the right foot by going with awe's k26 hybrids. do it right the first time.:goodjob:

Well it was....it had a MTM chip in it

No S4 owner would put a boost guage on if their car wasn't chipped "TRUST ME"

what about the cat-back??? it's still on right

I'm super new to the Audi S4 info but I've been actively shopping for one very hard for about 3 weeks now and have talked to a lot of the shops working on them and a lot of people who are selling modified ones and I'm hearing consistently that once the cars are chipped, depending on how often you drive it hard, the factory turbos go out in 10,000 miles or so, then that's when it makes sense to upgrade to the K04's or something but it's costly. Once you upgrade the turbos, you have plenty of power, just run good gas. Then you need RS4 intercoolers, bigger injectors, depending on how you drive, you might want to take a look at the brakes. I could go on and on. It takes $$$ as usual. That's why I'm looking for one that already has most of the expensive stuff because sellers can't ever get what they've invested in the car back out, means savings for a buyer.
I think I've found mine, just got to get rid of my Nissan first. Which is currently listed in the “cars for sale” forum.

Forgive me, I'm a S4 noob, trying to become knowledgeable on the car, what's the main difference between the K04's and the K26 hybrids you mention. The K26's bigger or ???

the turbo well need to be replaced but not at 10,000 miles, the K04 turbos i believe are the stock turbos on the RS-4

I've seen and talked to '311' a few times at various events in the past year and his car was not chipped. Both of the events (dyno day and APR BBQ) involved highway driving and I can say that his car was not chipped.
That car has over 100K on it already, so I'd be looking at preventative maint. first and foremost. Wheel bearings, control arms, tie rod ends, diverter valves, sensors, filters, etc should all be checked and replaced as necessary.
Chipping the car may or may not cut those turbos lives short. I know people with 150K miles with their chips and no problems, but I also know people whos turbos blew at 30K on stock software. You will definetly want to pressure test the car before doing anything else.

I would start with an APR ECU upgrade. You can then add the stage 2 or stage three upgrades. J3Motorsports (www.j3motorsport.com (http://www.j3motorsport.com/)) in Buford has a S4 with 500+ horse power that they built in house. Call them or go by and they can give you a lot of ideas. Plus the race cars that they run are really cool to look at. :2cents:

Friend up in seattle has a 430+awhp S4. I believe he had the Ko4's ported and got a bigger turbine installed in both. He had some type of program that interacted with the ECU via laptop on the stock OBDII port (if that's what it is). he controlled his injector constant and duty cycles in there. Also killed his limiters and could even adjust his headlight pitch. Goes by the name of Snowtrooper on most Audi forums. Have video of his car running low 11's but don't know where to host yet..

They're a fun platform to work on.....gotta pull the engine on almost everything major :(

He might want to drive the car "hard" GIAC > APR :D

Hmm, I wonder why GIAC is better? From the forums I always see that is more religous than anything else. THe reason why I like APR is that I can switch between stock and various chip programs. Also, they sell a turbo back exhaust (this is for my GTI) and I like the idea of one vendor with several products that go together.

In all seriousness I would like your opionon on the difference since I have not taken the plunge.

Also, Blair and his family are very nice they have done work on my car and done a very good job.

AWSOME car! For those that don't know.... think of it as the European supra as far as potential and engine strength.

RS4 turbos
RS4 injectors and fuel pump
DP
RS4 MAF
RS4 MAF to turbo piping
RS4 airbox
FMIC

=500hp range and still reliable

For suspensionsprings will do wonders
Then add a 2 piece 4-6 piston brake kit and you are ready to rock and roll!
