View Full Version : GEICO SUCKS

The Ren

Well I had always been very happy about my coverage with Geico because they covered all the extras on the supra up to 80%... well I get a letter in the mail yesterday from the state telling me my registration is suspended due to lack of insurence coverage.. i immediatly call geico.. they tell me.. "Well we cannot continue to cover your vehicle due to the customizations on it... we dropped the supra back in may.." and I ask "when were you going to tell me..." they said.. "we sent a letter back in may".. so I go through all my mail once again and guess what... no letter... I call them back and bitch because I was not notified by mail, email, or phone that they were going to drop the car, and they never fucking had a problem with it for the year Ive had the supra. I had to do an immediate coverage with Allstate who I am with now.. but im still looking for better prices.. Progressive, Travlers, Farmers, State Farm, and Geico are all out... and nationwide is way too high... Anyone else know of any good insurence's out there?

I have progressive as well. They were pretty much the only guys out there that would insure the skyline. and I've had the srt4 with them for almost 2 years now. They do pretty good with claims and all that

i may try and give them a call.. I have a speeding ticket and an insurance pay out (some lady back into me and said it was my fault back in college.. long story).. that come off next month... which leaves a speeding ticket and an at fault accident on my record (even after the court case they still left the accident on my record.. get that)...

I can't imagine why insurence wouldn't like that car... is it modded?

The Ren
08-10-2006, 03:18 PM
I will check all of these possibilities out! Thank you guys so so much for the help and keep the ideas coming... being 21 with two speeding tickets and an at fault accident and having a turbo supra sucks on insurence...

They were about as expensive as nationwide.. although i may consider going back to them.. they were always good on customizations...

and yeah I couldnt understand why they would drop me cause of customizations when I didnt have anything illegal on the car.. but they didnt like the fact I guess I had receipts for everything and if something happened.. they would have to pay.. state farm wont take me cause of my accident.. they wont even insure me cause of it..

that sucks, i doubt progressive knows all the shit i got on my car, the agent that sold it to me just asked if its hooked up and i said yeah, she said well keep recent pictures and receipts and if anythign happens, the comphrensive you bought ( i got like a 250 deductable LOL) would pay everythign back.....i primarily got alot cause of my indash touch screen, it dont have adetachable face

first question, did you not notice the reduction in your premium for the 3 months you havent had the Supra on your policy? a lot of times companies will drop cars like that, or non-renew a policy all together for highly customzied or high-end cars.

as far as non-standard companies I would recommend Progressive, their drive program is one of the best in the industry and Progressive is at the top of the pack when it comes to customized cars. try givin them a call direct, or stop by an agency of your choosing, they can do all the legwork themselves..

ricky.. this past month was the only month my payment had changed and it was only $35 cheaper... I was alittle worried but then again every 6 months my last month was aways cheaper so I didnt think too much of it...

Like I said I will see what I can do with progressive.. but I am on the priority teir for allstate.. which they give accident forgiveness (which I like) meaning if something happened they wouldnt raise my premium.. and if i have no infractions for 6 months.. my premium will go down $100 every 6 months..

These guys are by far the cheapest. I had my S2000 with them and every year I renewed it went down even with 2 speeding tickets that were both 25 over or more. They also don't try to refer you where to take your car and when I hit a deer they told me to take some pictures, email them and take it where I wanted too and they didn't even send a claims adjuster or anything.

Oh, btw Lee Kennedy is my agent.
