What the car needs:
New struts
Paint job

What performance upgrades the car needs:
3 inch exhaust
Install intercooler and boost controller(currently running MBC and stock Intercooler)

The car has power but needs the other items installed and tuned.

I got this car locally and it did not run because the cam sensor was bad. The previous owner had ran the car not knowing the cam sensor was gone and also did not understand how to do a timing belt. Needless to say the timing was way off so all valves got bent.

Replaced all valves, installed 264/272 cams, metal head gasket, ARP head studs, new timing belt, new timing belt tensioner. Work done by 4Gperformance.

Previous owner slammed the car with these green springs. I have a stock set of springs if you want them to bring the car up for daily driving.

Car pulls nicely but needs a tuning job on dyno to setup the fuel map on the AFC. Installing the front mount and 3inch exhaust would basically finish this car.

Power Sunroof, PW, PL, PM, PS, Leather interior, ICE Cold AC

I also have a friend at the dealer that has 2006 Eclipse 18 inch wheels to go with the car if you want to buy them for $400.00.

My new job is taking all my time and I already have two other cars so this project I chose to end and sell. Whoever gets it can take it to 4Gperformance and have them install the intercooler and make any additional piping you might need. Also 4gperfomance can make you a 3inch exhaust and keep the Apexi muffler.

First with $4500.00 takes it home. If you want to bicker about price then we can talk but I am not really in the mood to do so. I put more money into the car then planned to get it up and running.

**Items added 21 August 2006

By the way the JDM motor is an EVO III, which is still a 7 bolt. Its a 7 bolt JDM motor not a US spec 7 bolts which had the problems with crank walk. Since I had the head off myself and Mike over at 4Gperformance can state the pistons and bottom end are not US parts due to the casting codes on the pistons.

The stock 2G intake was kept instead of using the EVO intake which had short runners.

The motor was bought and installed by BJE in Marietta prior to my purchase of the car.

I would paint the front of the car and thats it. Hood needs paint due to oxidization. Nose piece and fenders were replaced long before I got the car and they were red and not properly prepped. So this has allowed little spots to appear in the inner wells and around the front nose piece from rocks hitting.

But as desperate as Macco is right now you could probably get the whole car done up very well with a clear coat for under $600.00

Ok got a few questions about the car so I will post them here for everyone:

1) Q: What problems will I have with the car as it is right now?
A: Struts need to be replaced, most important. I hate bounce/rebound when struts are blown.

2) Q: What performance wrok still needs to be done to the car?
A: Tuning of the AFC. BUT The reason I have done this is because I still wanted to install the Front mount intercooler, and the 3 inch exhaust, along with the Apexi boost controller before tuning the car. Remember this was not a daily driver, so its not a top priority about getting tuned until everything is installed.

3)Q:What about the paint?
A: I believe you could just piant the front of the car to the doors and be done. Now as cheap as paint jobs are at Macco right now I would go over and get the Supreme paint job and ass $100.00 for the clear coat, and get the whole car repainted.
Fenders and nose piece were not properly prepped prior to being repainted and the paint has chipped off int he fender wells and grill area and you can see the old paint, which was red, the car is dark green with silver trim from the factory.

I was going through the garage and found the brake up grade stuff I bought last year in a box. SO I will throw it in also as item not installed.
Dual piston calipers
Larger set of rotors
Brake lines

All used but in great condition.
Its a great upgrade for the car since the GSTs have Single piston calipers and smaller rotors.

i like this car, how much hp u think its putting down without tuning and the fmic?

mirageturbo
09-06-2006, 03:18 PM
I would say 300HP right now. Holding it back is the fact it still has the half stock exhaust and half 2 1/2 inch exhaust. It really needs 3 inch all the way and the FMIC to turn this car into a 350HP daily driver.
