this weekend ive been helping my friend swap his 96 civic ex from a b16a::00 si motor:: to a b18c :94 integra gsr: There is a problem we have hit with the ecu and the engine block.
Being that the gsr block does not have any holes to mount the crank position sensor since its a 94 block it was obd1 and he is running a obd2 ecu ... so im wondering if anyone has any insight into what needs to be done or if maybe the engine will run without the sensor installed any input would be great..

Thanks

The easiest way to fix this is to use the oil pump from the 00 si motor or get a new oem pump for a 96+ b series. The crank sensor mounts to the pump not the block so it does not matter what block you have. You could also run a obd1 dizzy and repin the car harness but that is a lot more work and makes it harder to change anything in the future. Later.

what pistons were you using>?

i ran into a similar issue with a friend of mines car. With topline pistons i tqed to spec all the rod caps an the motor just wouldnt turn over without three people jumping on a breaker bar. Come to find out the wrist pins were machined wrong from topline. that sucked
