or rent an app. wit 2 roomates ????

depends on what your plans are, you planning on staying there long and owning it sometime in the future then go for a townhome, but if you're just staying there for a year or so then get a apartment. Long term investment would be townhome or house for that matter, short term would be the apartment.

i would buy it and rent to your roommates, but i wouldn't buy w/ roommates ;)

buy it and rent rooms out to them and their goes your mortage payment

buy the home in your name only and rent to roommates, make sure they have a job. i am a loan officer and that is what i would do.

I would buy if you got the credit rating right now to do so. THe interest rates are heading up, slowly but none the less they are going up.
Buying now will later give you a great investment and a tax break.
Plus if you want a roommate then you are the one collecting the rent paying it toward your mortgage.

agreed, but if you do it w/ roommates and you buy make sure that you make enough money to support the payment incase they bail, but if i had a roommate(s) i would rent
