heres the deal. I've sold off pretty much all of my old gear except my the de-3000. Heres a few ideas I've been looking at for a new set-up.

head unit: Eclispe AVN7000
Front speakers: Focal k3p
center channel:
rear speakers:
front amp:
subs: 2 DD 3512f
sub amp: us amps de-3000
wiring: all stinger custom pro and expert
batteries: 3 stinger sp2150 and 1 sp800
alternator: 2 Stinger 250 amp

The system will have true digital 5.1 surround for DVD's. The subs will be mounted in a wall starting about 13-16" behind the front seats. Price really isnt a matter of concern for me as its going to take me some time to get everything and put it together.

Heres a couple other ideas I've been bouncing around with.

subs: 4 JBL WGTi 12's
front speakers: morel elate 6

Theres more but those are the only serious changes I'm looking at.

Anyways, post up your opinions. And I dont want to hear about what shop to goto for what I need. I have certian shops I buy my stuff from and I do my own installs.

I have heard some good things about the rainbows, but I havent heard them. Are there any shops that sell them that have them on the sound board?

not really SQ, but it does need to sound good. I know the DD's wont sound as good as the JBL's but I have always loved DD and never really owned them.

I also want to be able to use this set-up at local SPL comps so it needs to get loud. I plan on picking up a couple Orion 2500d's later on and running them 2 ohms strapped for comps and just using 1 amp for daily use.

I would suggest thinking of using whatever you want for the front stage...just look into using he same speaker for the center. Typically, this works best. I have seen/heard systems with varying speakers, but typically (IMO) the results are better when they all match.

If you go with the Morels, then think about a Morel (maybe 5.25") as a center.....

Also, it might be a bit harder to get a sense of "large" realism with the subs so close behind the listener. Its definately a give-and-take on SPL vs SQ on that one. I have no idea what is right though. I do know that smaller interiors are harder to make sound "BIG"....

you might even get into the wonderful world of time-alignment.... :D

yea tuning is going to be a cast rion bitch. the av8533 I have now has TA and so does the anv7000 so I can do everything with my current head unit then just transfer all the settings to the new one when I get it.

With the subs only getting 600wrms each getting a decent stage should be ALOT easier than giving the subs 1500 each like I was originally thinking. the 5.1 will be a completely other story though. Its going to be hard to find a mounting point for the rear speakers so they wont be overpowered by the subs. Thats something that I will have to figure out when I get the rest of it installed though.
