He rapped made some albums that were sold to 10 year old gang bangers, talked about shooting cops and little white babies, probably has 9239 million kids out of wedlock, and died.

wow! i thought it was Martin Lutha Tha Kang for a second there. He look so JDM bronze, its awesome.

*chuckles* they gave him a suit to make the statue look mo' dignified. as opposed to a beater and a bandana.

Isnt the story that when they were making the statue they made it to look like an older Tupac, like what he would have grown into had he not been killed?

WHAT SITE IS THIS?? you know it's more people with blinders on here than on horses on parade. BUT FOR THOSE THAT DIDNT KNOW OR DIDNT LISTEN TO ANY OF HIS ALBUMS. he talked about more than just money, hoes, guns and clothes. he was wanting to become a political figure and was already an activist. this dude did have a heart, and the most violent and prevocative songs sell. you should know that already, half you fools have 50cent albums in some way shape or form. it's a proven fact that black artists that are rapping about political plights of ALL people dont get much backing from record companies.

===================================

Tupac was known not only for his musical talents, but on his activities out of the recording stage and off the stage. Poignantly outspoken, egotistical, and a violent streak were all characteristics of his personality. He had earlier run-ins with police, with whom he expressed a fiery hatred for, when he was younger. His stepfather had been a drug dealer, and on the FBI’s top 10 most wanted list – and was arrested in 1998 for armed robbery. Tupac had altercations with the police in 1991, when he was beaten after protesting an arrest. In 1993, Shakur got into a fight with two off-duty police officers whom he perceived as harassing a black motorist on the side of the road in Atlanta. Both officers were uncritically shot and Tupac faced serious charges until it was discovered that both officers were intoxicated during the incident and were using weapons stolen out of an evidence locker. The charges against Shakur were dismissed. In early 1995, Tupac was charged with sexually abusing a fan and sentence to prison, despite vehemently denying any wrong-doing.

But perhaps most famous, was Tupac’s rivalry with New York’s rapper, Notorious B.I.G., and his Bad Boy Crew. Shortly before his 1995 verdict on his pending sexual assault case, Shakur was shot and robbed in New York. Tupac blamed Biggie for the incident and vowed to get revenge. 1n 1996, Shakur was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died in the University of Nevada Hospital six days later from the four gunshot wounds. It was reputed that this was act from his rival East Coast rappers (namely Notorious B.I.G.). The Notorious B.I.G. would be murdered a month later.

Ok so I did a little reasearch and am still not understanding why this guy deserves a statue. When everyday we have armed forces overseas dying and yet they dont get a statue, but this guy does? Not trying to offend, just trying to learn more about someones great accomplishments towards humanity.

I agree completely, there are a million soldiers that have died serving our country that deserve a statue more than that two bit wanna be gangsta.
