Almost everytime I crank my car up after it has ben sitting for a while, I hear a squelling sound from what I think is the alternator belt. It only lasts for a brief second and then stops. I don't think the belt is loose cause the alternator seems to charge fine. The motor is an OBD-1 GSR, whats your opinion?

do you have a belt driven fan? if so make sure the clutch (of the fan) isnt worn out. that was the problem on one of my 240's

Check the compressor belt too, hell...just tighten them all...you should be able to have someone else start the car while looking under the hood to see where the sound is coming from though.
