Mid 14s is chip only. GIAC or APR has good ones everyone will tell ya. Some ppl have one low 14sw/ chip only, (I did 14.1 @ 100 in a jetta)so it is that big a deal. Dont do a boost controller, the chip is FAR better as a tune, and a B.C. doesnt change enough, just adds pressure, thats bad.
Try VWvortex.com READ alot first, dont reply as a noob too much or you'll get thrashed...dont strat topics like "which chip is best" etc etc Its a purist VW nazi style site where everyone thinks they know something, most do, not many like they think though. Also google "club 1.8T" it is a site that has alot of info for newbie 1.8T owners.
This site is also good w/ the closer knit VW group, Paul/Admin has good ties w/ EPG for parts also.
Hope this helps,
Greg

software > boost controller

software + downpipe + exhaust = low 14's no doubt

13's is possible w/ bolt on's as well. let me know if you need any help getting parts or questions, EPG are sponsors of IA and good friends of mine they only do VW/Audi.

Chip Chip Chip.... should be 1st mod.
I think here you have enough help, alot of vets vw/audi owners, Me being a newbie myself to the dub world.

I have chip alone in my TT.. 1.8t /ko4 turbo. Chip & DV.. I ran a 14 flat, which has been my best run..

You should do chip + DV and start from there.
