Didn't pass emmissions

I have a 1990 Honda Accord and yesterday I finished up alot of work on it (spark plugs, wires, air filter, valve cover gasket, egr valve) and the check engine light finally went off thank god! Anyway I drove the car around for about a hour and took it to get the emmissions done. Now before the guy is even done running the emmissions he yells out of my car and tell me that the car is not going to pass that if I wanted to I could pay him a 100.00 and he would pass it for me after I told him hell no his fucking boss who was leaving when I got there calls him on his cell phone and ask him if I was going to pay the 100.00 dollars to pass.( Im guessing they do this make extra money) anyway just trying to get some feedback on how I should take this! if it was on the dyno u can tell if its gonna pass or not by hte amount of time u run it on 15 mph and 25 mph. what i mean is if it takes more then a few seconds to get to the next test it will mostlikely not pass that current test.

if he had it on a 4 gas machine just by looking at the number he can tell whether it gonna pas or not, before he finishes the test.

I passed everything but the 50/15 co% which i failed with a 1.43 and the allowed is a 0.98. What can I do to fix this? Thanks

co and hc go hand in hand with engine efficency, full and complete combustion, what he could have done was try to run it in a lower gear, reving it higher to further burn unburnt fuels, but this would increase NOx and if it was close on that it might have made you fail, but ya smoke em is right, when your doing the test it starts at 90sec, if it doesnt move you to the next test by 68sec you usually are going to fail, but if its close and runs through the whole test it will give you a "second chance" to see if its gonna pass...

He did keep it in first the whole time and I noticed when he was driving the car it was jearking really bad on the 50/15 test and I was looking on the paper and the 25/25 my NOx was 1051 and the allowed is 1208 and on the 50/15 my NOx was 1317 and the allowed was 1323 which is very close. Can I go to another station and get the test taken?

they will charge you 25 more bucks ,,,he can do the second test there for free ,,if what u say is true ,you should call the ClearAirForce and they will (or should) bust their ass ,cus doing will (or should) result in a $2000 fine and license revoked for like a year ,,i dont remeber the exact numbers but the CAF dosnt take that shit lightly

a friend of mine lost his license (and job) for a year (not doing any thing shaddy either) he didnt test a gas cap properly,and the CAF had been across the parking lot watching him for 3hours to catch him doing this HORRIBLE act(he didnt know they where there till after the fact)

you just got rid of any chance of folks that can't pass able to pass. good job. he was probably going to use another car to get you to pass since yours wasn't going to pass legally and unless you're willing to fix issues that were causing you to fail you probably won't pass anywhere.

That guy was nice to even to make that offer. $100 is really low. It is a $10K fine and his license. He should have just failed you and sent you on your way - then you could go spend a lot of money to fix your POS. Hopefully, a narc like you can't afford to fix it, and will have to take the bus.:2up:

i cant beeleive you told him to rat the shop out. You knowhow hard it is to find a shop that will 'HOOK U UP". . .

and your frined had to fuked up b4 .. u get a warning and penalty before they revoke your lisence. specialy for forgetting a gas cap u get fined
