View Full Version : Track Day @ Roebling Road. Who would be interested?

I'm thinking of organizing an open track day at Roebling Road in Savannah, sometime within the next few months. Before I get cranked up on organizing it, I'd like to find out who would be intrested? If nobody wants to go, then I'll save my efforts, but if the response is good enough, then I get cranked up on organizing stuff. Let me know. (^_^)d

To give you guys a general idea, I held an open track day a TGRP (Talledega) last year and it cost like...$150 for the entire day. It rained, which sucks, but we still had a good time. I try to keep it the driver count as low and cost effective as possible, to ensure that those that do attend, get a very large amount of track time.

The following process would be used: I find out how much it costs and post the registration fee, you mail me a check, and I rent the track once everything is gathered. Once the track is rented, the fee is non-refundable and depending on the tracks policy, we would race whether rain or shine.

So let me know if anyone here would be seriously interested.

Cool cool. If I can get anywhere around 12-15 people then I'll get started on finding out the costs and what-not. That'll keep the track full but still give everybody a hella lot of track time. At Talledega, people were driving so much that towards the end of the day, everybody was pretty much worn out. lol

I would highly suggest putting a small handful on a waiting list and holding their money because you know there will be people that back out at the last second.

Paypal subtracts a small fee from the payment. Which isnt a problem with 1 or two payments, but after about 14-15 you notice. And he has to pay in full

Just charge an extra 3% or whatever if they use paypal :2cents:I almost did that last time, but didn't feel like dicking with it. If you send me a check and then need to pull out before I rent the track, then I'll mail the check back to you or shred it. Whichever you prefer.

If they're the same as TGRP, then it's 18 w/ a valid license.

I start school August 13th. I'm broke as shit til then. I'll be attending NGCSU, and in the Corps of Cadets til the new year. Then I'm dropping the corps and picking up a job so I can afford to continue building my CRx, Civic, and LSVTEC.

I tried calling the track today but didn't get thru. I shot them an e-mail so hopefully I'll have some availability dates and prices soon. The September schedule looks pretty packed so we're probably looking at October. Thanks for all the interest!

You should post this on www.soloatlanta.com. This is the Atlanta Region SCCA website. I'm sure plenty of us would join you if the date is not a selected autox day.

My Club went last year.
We took about 25 drivers.
$4800 was the fee for the Track, Corner Workers, Ambulance, & Insurance.

We were there under the cover as a Driving School.
We had two SCCA instructors.

Its a great Track.
They are going to be more strict than Little Talladega.
You have to know what the Rules are & what the Flags mean.
Not trying to bring the trip down. Just giving you some need to know info.

If you go off the track a few times you can get pulled off the track or possibly sent home.

We were reaching speeds of 120MPH to 155MPH down the straights & 80 to 110 through the turns.

I would recommend taking some instructors with you.
Kay & her Husband would probably look more favorable on you if you did.

Good luck with your Track Day

2 conditions, as long as it's under $200 for 1 day, and it doesn't interfere with the BMWCCA October drivers school. Other than that, dwn. Just need 2 weeks notice to get a saturday off from work, if we race a saturday. But yes, I'm down.

Okay guys, I got word back from Roebling and it's not good. Everything is pretty much booked for weekend events for a long time. Which means I can't host it since I have a business to manage Mon-Fri. If you guys really want to hit a track, I can try to source Little Talledega again. Just let me know.

Sorry to let you guys down. :(
