have you tried the sylvania silver stars?? i've heard lots of good stuff about them, just never really cared to get "the look"
I had some silverstarts, they do shine good, but i jsut wish they lasted a bit longer. And the 9004's i bought didnt fit..the housing. they were too small. after spending 30$ on them i couldnt return them. So i had to rig them to stay in the socket. But they do look good..there sizes are a ilittle weird tho. if u have a 9004 be warned..

Most fake HID's look like they are exactly that. plus because of the film that they put on the outside of them to make them look "real" they are actually dimmer then oem headlights.

I have silver stars in both my cars. They shine bright, but dont have the blue-ish look from 50 feet away that HIDs do. I also dont find them as clear still. Once you put Silver stars in you fogs (Especially if you have H3 fogs built IN your head lights) it gets you there. I've only seen this fog set up ov Audi/VWs....probably other cars have this over seas.
indeed, the silverstars dont last along time..

I used to try to imitate HIDs but after you start driving a car equipped with with HIDs you realize that your being Blatantly ROBBED of light output with halogen bulbs.
besides, you can't imitate the ignition of the balast system, when you turn that switch and the bulbs ignite the color is beautiful. that it just can't be done with halogens.

Silverstars do suck. I bought a set for my Cherokee. Crap. I then decided to try a pair for my Neon. Still crap. Waste of $50. Later, QD.

Silverstars are brighter/more crisp than a normal bulb but as mentioned above, don't always last long...i've used a total of three or four sets in two differant vehicles.

Word, Kev. You just can't beat that clarity. In my Prelude, I used the Silverstars. I used them because I actually liked the color of them, never with the expressed purpose of "imitating" HIDs. Now that I have them on my s2k, I never use the Bright Lights. Instead of chasing the latest and "brightest" looking light, just invest the $200 into an actual HID conversion. Trust and believe, you will be happier with yourself in the end....
