Unfortunately, we have to have people request a press pass in advance now. It's just getting really crazy. It becomes a problem at the door and out on the track if we don't have enough vests. We had 22 poeple on our media list that e-mailed in advance. We are still working on things to make them more efficient.

Shit thats a lot of media people. I wonder how many of those are companies, and how many are just regular folks with point and shoots that want photos for their personal collection.
At least the you took turned out great. :)

As soon as I get the shop back in order I will go thru the paperwork and post up the companies or websites that these people were with ;)
You bring up a great point tho. That's why we are having people sign up in advance from now on...no if's, and's or butt's. This way we will have time to make sure that it's legit :) We've already had the talk about how people use the "media" thing as a way to get in for free...even tho it's only 5 dollars.
I was told that you did get a media pass. I wasn't at the gate, so I wasn't sure.
The next event isn't until November so we will have plenty of time to have that worked out.
*edit*
Oh and not all of those media people on the list showed up. We let others in as long as we had a vest. Obviously we want as many pics out there as we can get. We just have to figure out a better way to do it.

haha thanks! You ever find that book?

I signed a media waver later in the day because she saw that I had a camera, but I still paid 5 bucks to get in and only got a blue wrist band. :???:

Oh well. Sorry:(. It's all still a work in progress. Like I said we'll hopefully have it together for the next event. Each event we do something a little different than the last. We try to adress a problem at each event.

I agree with George, although I got to shoot from the infield this time.
I think that you should check out who posts pics and where they post pics or what they use them for because some people get asked specifically to take pics of the cars/racers/event and it'd be a shame to keep them shooting from the sidelines.
BTW, I'll be the first to go ahead and request a media pass for the next one..... :D

damn man I wish you would have caught me, pulling an all nighter before the event wore me the hell out (not to mention all the Vault I drank to keep me awake was making me sick) so I turned in my vest to go home and sleep around 12 in the afternoon. I would have happily handed it over to you, next time just talk to Joey, I'm pretty sure your pictures speak for themselves at the events, and I'd imagine Joey alredy knows that.

the main problem is that there are a lot of people that go out there with point and shoots that shouldnt really be out there. I would be a little more strict on who you let in there. It also gets annoying when "media" that really doesnt have any business in there start getting in the way too. This is also a problem that Formula D has, mainly at the Long Beach Event.

We're working on it. I appreciate the feedback. It wasn't an issue until this past event. We'll try to have it under control by Nov.
