I've just read on an Italian news site that the French soccer association and a French lawyer Mr. Mehana Mouhou (sounds about as French as 3/4 of their soccer team) want to force a rematch taking into consideration the expulsion of Zidane and they want to have Materazzi disqualified for the rematch game.
1-I think they're dreamin in technicolor if they think FIFA will allow that.
2-Funny, but I don't recall this kind of hullaballoo after Italy had five (5) valid goals disallowed in their tragic 2-1 loss against South Korea in 2002, the referee admitted to having been paid off by Korean officials and was banned for life from any FIFA match but Italy took it like men and decided to come back stronger next time.
3-Only the French could raise this kind of hell because one of theirs decided to get expelled which, BTW was the third time in his career Zidane was being expelled for head butting an opponent, once in a 2000 Champion's League game with Juventus against an English team, he got 5 games suspension. But previous to that, during the 1998 world cup in a match between France and Saudi Arabia, he head butted an opponent and was suspended for two games.
It's still unclear what excuse he had those two times, maybe the Saudi Arabian called him a prick...
I'm glad he retired. I hope I never have to see his ugly buttface again.
