why did they swap my engine

I have a 97 civic ex and the mechanic i took it to today because it shakes at idle told me that they swapped from stock 1.6 to a 1.9 in my car and didnt do the motor mounts right and thats why it shakes (hack job)

can anyone tell me why they would have done the swap from 1.6 to just 1.9 and not have done a bigger swap?

The stock engine is a D16 right? and you claim a 1.9 was put in it? "Only" a 1.9 at that? There is no 1.9, there is a 1.7 though but doubt that would have been put it in....A stock integra engine is 1.8 so why do you say "only" 1.9?

It seems like it only does it 50-60mph on the freeway, i mean in 1st gear threw third it goes along pretty good but when it shifts to 4th it falls on it's face and takes a while to accellerate especially if i'm going up hill on the freeway (i-20, that hill by sixflags :rolleyes: )

It seems like it only does it 50-60mph on the freeway, i mean in 1st gear threw third it goes along pretty good but when it shifts to 4th it falls on it's face and takes a while to accellerate especially if i'm going up hill on the freeway (i-20, that hill by sixflags :rolleyes: )

that hill isnt bad at all i live by there . considering they replaced ur original engine ,posibility they messed with ur tranny gearing ?>just a thoughtnot 100% sure ?
