What are you people using to download misc files?
Seems like Limewire has a ton of fake crap now, designed to piss you off and not let you find the real files. I tried learning to use Bittorrent, but I couldn't get matches on what I was looking for. Mirc has way too many chatrooms and I hate the wait time.

So what else is out there?

Try eMule. http://www.emule-project.net/

Its a P2P program, and can be rather slow at times if you don't upload, but it works well and doesn't have too many fake files. You can also get links to good files from sites like www.ed2k-it.com

2 things i use.
uTorrent client along with isohunt.com for just about everything (i have over 18,000 songs, about 100 or so ps2 games, and countless movies)
bearshare pro. just download it for free on isohunt haha
oh yea, its wrong to download music and videogames and movies you dont already own. blah blah blah

I guess I can share trade secrets with everyone. Alrighty if you are looking for programs, games, things of that nature (some music too) http://www.whereisit.org now the best thing to use for music is most definately BitTorrent. Go to http://www.torrentspy.com and use either the search function or the directory. Limewire still works you just have to search for the exact thing you are looking for or search for the same thing multiple times. Hope this helped.

Here is what i use:
For fun and big collections: Direct Connect
Individual songs or something: Ares
Anime and some movies: Bit Comet w/ random seed sites
Movies, Games, some Anime: Hydra IRC in random channels
