What makes silver surfer so good?Faster than the Flash and stronger than Hulk. Although he doesn't look it, Silver Surfer is beef.


The Silver Surfer possesses vast power known as the "Power Cosmic," gained when Galactus restructured his former body. He has the ability to channel ambient cosmic energy into his body at will, and expel it violently as concussive force or gently as a means to restructure molecules according to his mental design. The Surfer can generate beams of energy with sufficient destructive force to destroy a planet or, by contrast, generate such subtle amounts of energy to restructure the molecules of the natural pigments within a plant to change its color. The Surfer can rearrange the molecules of matter to create other configurations and can even directly transmute elements. While he can use his power to revitalize life energies and heal the wounded, there is no proof that he can create life from nothingness or return the dead to life.

The Surfer possesses Class 100 strength, meaning he can press over 100 tons. Additionally, the Surfer can use the Power Cosmic to amplify his physical strength to a level at least rivalling that of an enraged Savage Hulk. By using his board to exceed 99.9% of the speed of light (186,000 miles per second), the Surfer can shift himself into hyperspace, a dimension in which velocity is not limited by the speed of light. The Surfer can also compress his own bodily matter so as to shift himself into a so-called microverse. Additionally, he can phase his body's molecules to pass through solid matter or energy. all of you guys still fail to realized spiderman DO have spidey sense that warns him when something isnt right. ALSO...........his new suit(made by iron man) is bullet proof, and fire proof blah blah blah. Not that he needs any. Yes batman does have all the gadget, but spiderman is smarter and has iron man wealth on the side also. So brides isnt an issue to him. Sorry im a comic book geek. :bump:

From what I gather, he was never that popular as a solo character. He's usually seen with the Fantastic Four or some other group. I know that he's had bad run-ins with Mephito, Dr.Doom, and even fought an overpowered Cable, but not much else. Also, he did get caught by the Spiderman symbiote and became Carnage Cosmic for a little bit. That didn't last long tho.

(such as turning a steel napkin holder into solid gold or tons of rock into harmless gas) Other uses of the Power Cosmic have included the ability to phase through objects, accelerate the evolution of lifeforms (even on a planet wide scale), see the past by peeling back the layers of time, time travel, trans dimensional travel, the manipulation or absorbtion of any form of energy or radiation, and granting limited cosmic powers to others. Essentially, the Power Cosmic gives the Surfer mastery over the four fundamental forces of the universe.

Cosmic Senses
The Surfer's senses were enhanced by Galactus, which allow him far-ranging vision (in space he can see people clearly over a light year away), the ability to see sub-atomic particles, superhuman hearing, the ability to detect fields, traces, and concentrations of energy and discern their natures. He also has an affinity for the life-energies of living beings, and can use his cosmic energies to boost the natural healing powers of a wounded individual, even if they are near-death. He cannot, however, raise the dead.
