Get off work

Head to publix for a small amount of groceries

Park @ the end of the lot as I always do

Approach my car to see two shopping carts holding a personal conversation/debate with my car.

Well my car lost the debate and now i have a 3.5" dent in the rear qaurter and fender.

Filed a claim with management, pictures were taken etc etc. So now i should expect a call from the corporate office.

Anyone have any experience with incidents such as mine??

Feedback would be appreciated.

*UPDATE 7-14-06*
They responded in favor of the company therefore:

Well tell you what, give it some time- I'm sure you'll experience something very similar. Just because you posted stupid shit like that. Oh and when it does happen - which it will, be sure to let me know.

I have never had anything like that happen, but I hope the store compensates you for it because is why they have people come out and get the shopping carts is so that doesnt happen...

1st gen Altima, nothing extravagant.

If this shit happend back when i used to show i would be extremely pissed- Those days are over though.

I came really close to buying a new car but invested $$ into my house instead.

When I was young, my friend and I would walk to the grocery store a lot. Well anyway, when we'd leave we would grab a few stray carts that were in the lot and walk with them to the end of the lot (which was at the top of a hill). Then we'd select a car, and push the carts down the hill to hit the targets. We f'ed up so many cars, it's so not even funny.

Anyway, to defeat karma, nowadays whenever I'm walking thru a lot into a store and I see a cart, I'll push it (like a lame) all the way to the little area where the rest of the carts are. Partly because I dont want some kids to f my car up, but also because mistakes happen.

Sorry about your dents man.

i always move carts away from my shit. i had to dive on a rogue cart at walmart in stone mountain once, this asshole. decided to just push it across the parking lot 'cause he was too lazy to walk it to the island. so i'm getting out my car lock the door, set the alarm and walked 2 cars away when i hear it......hard rubber wheels and a shaky metal body, moving fast. i turn and see this rogue cart on a path to my car....see the asshat who shoved it looking like "uh oh" , sprint to catch it. and caught it before it hit my car.

after i caught it i stared at him...he raises his arms and scratced his head with that "i'm sorry!!" from a distance look.

That sucks, Kev. I know how you feel.

I had a rogue cart come at my SUV in a parking lot while I was turning into the lane to find a parking spot. There was a car in front of me so I couldn't go anywhere. It smacked the side of it hard as hell, left a small dent and chipped the paint. I was so pissed I crashed the cart into the display playsets at the Toys-R-Us I was in front of (it was one of their carts). And no, there were no children on the playsets when I flung the cart.

Private Property

usually the company won't admit fault.

you can try to prove that there aren't any cart boys to get the carts from the parking lot and show negligence on their part

IMPORTANT******

when the insurance Co. calls tell them the parking lot was packed full of shopping carts and they were "everywhere"!
trust me, if you say anything less they will deny your claim.
the same thing happened to me @Wal-Mart. and I said that the parking lot had carts in it but it wasn't a "cluster-fook". the adjuster told me since the lot wasn't a mess they wouldn't take responsibility for neglegance(sp).
Just be careful of what you say. :2cents: good luck

you know the place you are suppose to put your buggy when you are done with it... read the top of it... somewhere in there it says that they are not resposible for the damages caused by these carts...

i am going to make a bumper sticker one day that says not resposible for ANY illegal activities, including but not limited to, speeding, wreckless driving, hit and runs, drug smuggling, and any other things that may rock the car. thank you for your concern now F*** Off!!

That's BS if they dont wanna pay up! I worked at Michael's for two years and while i was there we prob. had 10 incidents just like yours, where someone walks out to their car and finds a buggy jammed into the side of their door. Everytime our company paid for the repairs. DONT LET THEM JEW YOU!

If i caught someone doing that to my car, I would break each finger one by one, then smash each toe with a ball pin hammer. Then I would cut off both thumbs for good measure. You would wish you were dead when I was done with you....
