Popping in the sternum - Anyone?

Does this happen to anyone else? It's really not painful, but it sometimes gets tight feeling. I can pop it multiple times by turning side to side and eventually it won't pop again until the next day. It's kinda weird. I asked my doctor and he said, quote, "We don't worry about things like that". ROFL! Amazingly, Google doesn't help me either really. Most people have it from trauma, but no such thing here.

I also smoke a pack a day. I don't think that is it though. That just prevents me from running anywhere... and walking sometimes too!

its something that has started with me too...and I know one other guy that does it...but its not everyday for either of us..

Mine pops whenever I stretch, but the doctor said that was because of one of my bad accidents.

i have the same deal....i have had no major accidents in that area so trauma is not the cause of mine. but most of the time when i stretch my sternum pops loud its pretty awesome. it might be becuase i have vtec

Mine started when I started to lift heavy..and also everytime I stretch it pops

I have a similar problem where my cartilage in my chest has seperate.. apparently it could have happened at any time.. sleeping wrong/coughing hard.. whatever dr's can fix it with out a major surgeory so i just keep some anti inflamitories around.. which help a bit.
