You can take the MECP test at any local library or you can find out through MECP's website. :D

"So if you are anyone you know needs a job and can do he work have them PM me are just call up to the shop 770-850-3821 ask for jose or Tee" dunno how often these guys have a chance to get on, why don't you just show them you at least know how to follow simple instructions...might be a good step if you're actually interested

MECP is overrated....just look at best buy and CC....half them fuckers cant do shit and they have it

the mecp tests from circuit city and best buy are not the same as the real tests. anybody whos installed a stereo could pass the mecp basic from best buy. I spend all the time money and effort to get my first class, and i see those jerks at best buy sporting a first class badge, and they're clueless.

certs are worth the paper they are printed on ;) , proving worth is the only way to show anything. my brother just got done at the fishman school and i was told fishman isn't certified :D
I am a Certified MECP installer and it is worth it. I was just at Installer Institue in Daytona Beach. And the stuff they teach you puts you wayyy ahead of alot of people. ANd Fishman is not an installer he is a Fabricator thats a huge difference any one can fabricate. But it doesnt mean that they know what the hell they are doing.

Again, Very true. HIFI Buys AKA Tweeter is one of very few large retail corporations that do any custom work period.

i went to the location in toronto, canada, but they also have one in arizona, i think.
I choose it because they have 6 mecp master installers teaching there.

Maybe not, But ive seen MANY show winning cars come from the guy that taught me. And hes not certified, no schools. And is one of the most looked for fabricator and installed in the eastern south carolina area aroudn myrtle beach.
liek i said, A certification means nothing
Just means you were taught the info, not htat you can do it

Thats not entirely true. Certification means alot, it just depends on what job you are doing. I do tech support for a manufactor (sp) and we are required to be certified every 4 years. Its one thing to wire an amplifier, put in a radio or fabricate a box but on my end its much more than that. Would you call a company and ask for advice from someone who installs in their driveway? Just a thought.
Another benefit is it opens so many more doors in the industry. Corporations thrive on people who have certification. Its all about that piece of paper these days...

yeah but that driveway installed might have more time and experience than someone with the certification, both have their benefits, but in either way, there are a bunch of idiots in both

While guys the two installers we have are proving show winners just come to the shop and see our work throphies and the sponserships we have won from the installation and then tell me all of this stuff you are writing. But just for information we have already found someone that we hope will work out and if he works out I can bet you anything he will be getting paid alot more then any installer you guys know seeing how our shop is sponsered. But think to all those who really read the post and was repling for the position.
