It is actually Electric Blue. Blue By You was in 2003 and possibly 2004 (I can't remember if they changed it in 04 or 05). The Blue By You color was awful while the Electric Blue is much deeper and nicer.

The sunroof was only available on the regular evo with the SSL package.

The sunroof is not available for the RS or MR, as they both have aluminum rooms. The regular evo roof is steel.

Yep, the EB color is the reason that I choose the 05 model. Parked next to each other, the BBY color looks like crap compared to the EB. The EB has a deeper metallic look to it, and can appear a bit purple at times.

Mitsubishi found it to be very cost uneffective to continue to use their prototype microscopic anti-friction plates found ONLY in the Blue By You paint and not any of the others. This technology allowed the BBY-colored Evo's (which also are the rarest and least produced) to have a far less wind drag coeffecient hence allowing them to be faster than the others. The chemical properties of these anti-friction plates caused the original purpleish-blue color to turn into a different type of blue, light blue in the sunlight and dark blue in the shade... ^.^

Oh, I'm not sure why blue was used as the medium for these plates... I believe the wavelength of the color has something to do with it.
