I am visiting my Dad and his family in Alabama for the weekend. While I was here I decided to grab my dad's point and shoot camera and go take some pictures to share with you guys.
A while ago, I took some camera phone pictures of "The Crossman's Yard", some of you might remember it but for those who don't, here's the story behind it...
Years and years ago, a man (We'll call him Crossman for the sake of the story) lost a son to a drunk driving car accident. The man claimed that his son haunted him day after day. Crossman heard from god that the only way to stop the severe hautings was to create these signs and symbols. Strange...

After that, Jaclyn, my sister and I headed down a dirt road looking for something to photograph. We took few pictures of the swamp and the roadway and then heard the rattle of a 3 wheeler heading our way. As the man approached on his faded red Yamaha, we noticed that he was slowing down to a crawl. He pulled up right next to where I was standing and said, "You seen any snakes!?"
"No, sure have not," I said.
"Damn, I've been looking for some good rattlers."
"Oh really, why is that," I said.
"They's some damn good eatin' thats why," he said seriously.
I did my best to keep my composure because I could tell that this guy wasn't joking. He then told me that he, "Got him a coon," and proceeded to take it out of the yellow plastic grocery bag that he had it wrapped in. "Yeah, this here's supper. And gonna make me a good hat out of it too!"
Ahh, Alabama at it's finest...
