I just got a 1989 325is for 1000 bux went through looked at everything and made sure everything was working fine and got all the general maitenence done...

I have 3 grand to turn this into a sick autox/drift/daily driver and was wondering what i should use the money on. I am fine with the power but it still has the original suspension components and stock brakes. who should I go too for parts and what do you sugest?

since your fine with the power. stick to the components that will take the toll with drifting.

your suspension.

things i would upgrade/modify are:

reinforce rear subframe
replace all bushings front/rear, upper/lower. brand new OE is ok but go for powerflex or other reputable company.

good coilover setup or good shock/spring setup - GC, Bilstein, Koni

good tires for your bottle cap wheels

and th rest on preventative maint. mainly your cooling system

if you shop right with 3k you can get all that done ad stil have money for events you attend and some lunch maybe :)

that right there seems like a great step for a beginner user. and once all those parts are installed the car would /should feel much tighter and crisper.

when i mentioned subframe reinforcement though was realy referring to reinforcement plates being welded to the mounting points of the rear subframe itself which woudl require removal of the rear subframe to do it right. not a horrible job though. and im not even certain thats necessary on E30 chassis.

i recomend talking to Autofab motorsports they are a sponsor on here though. call them up and talk to THOMAS he has a E30 race car thats awesome. he knows everything about them and might even be able to order parts for you and install them for good prices.
