Anyone have some real numbers on a JR supercharger on a b18c1 @ 11psi? im thinking i wanna go with SC instead if turbo because i wanna run on a road course. Is this gonna be suitable or should i just go turbo and have some lag.

the problem w/ the jrsc is that on a honda it bolts directly to the intake plenum. it has great throttle response because it's a belt driven eaton/roots blower and has a great smooth power band. the problem is that the higher boost you push the less efficient it becomes. 11psi is really the max and even then you're losing efficiency. also the more and longer you run it the worse it becomes heat soaked. there is water injection or even a light nitrous you could use to intercool it, but you will have to install it post blower to get any real effect...if you do it pre blower it'll just compress and heat it up.

personally i would recommend a smaller turbocharger or come up with a way to custom mount the blower section seperate from the intake and run piping through an fmic. jackson really limited themselves by making it a compact and simple installation...they are really best in terms of hp/lb in the 8psi range.

this wasn't at 11psi by the way...i reluctantly tuned one at 15psi and it didn't make much more power than this

thats what i needed to hear.. thanks!! i thought i heard about these losing power due to heat at higher psi. now this.. how much turbo boost can i run on:

forged pistons @ 10:5
forged knife-edge crank
forged rods
and being bored .020 over

you can run a sh#t ton of boost...it'll depend on your turbo, fueling, and tuning. however, in your case of a track car you may want to look for something in the medium range if you want quick spool in and out of curves.

i had a vortech. also not intercooled, but it made so much heat at 15psi it averaged more power on the street at a more lax 8-9psi.

wow supercharging would have been a bad idea.. good thing i didn't spend the money!
