If you dont follow what I am asking...I would like to know if any of you out there are hardcore moders and if you might be able to point me in the right direction of my goals. I want to know what I need to do, who I needed to contact in order to start the laborious task of converting my 2002 honda accord into a RWD drift machine for serious show and competition. I know its possible, but at what cost. And who in the atlanta area specializes in such frankenstein creations when it comes to cars?

The route I see as the least difficult approach is to replace the accord OEM engine and drivetrain with that of the S2000. Though I like the power from a 350Z's engine, becuase it is a Nissan I fear its compatibility. Keeping the equipment in the same manufacturer's family. The greatest obstacle being how to go about welding the S2000 factory suspension components to the seat of the accord body (if even the accord seat can still be used? - will the new tranny and header arrangement fit somewhat flush with the bottom like the originals). There are so many details and areas of conflict that I wont bother to discuss them here, but if there is anyone, ANYONE out there who can catch any bit of sense of what I am trying to say, please point me in the correct direction of who I need to get incontact with anywhere on the East Coast (preferrably ATL) that might shine some light on the situation.

Im on a tight budget so droppin the total cost (after buying a junk accord so that I dont destroy my daily driver, and and buying an F20C + tranny) all at once is out of the question, but I am willing to take a money-is-no-object (over time/slow roasted) approach to see to this project's completion. I am also willing to pay to be trained as a certified mechanic should my own manual labor be requested as I hope it would be (dying to be a grease monkey in my spare time for extra cash). I know there are plenty of sponsors out there ready to take on these types of impossible projects - so hopefully I'll luck up and run into someone who is just as determined to help as I am determined to drift.http://forums.importatlanta.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

WHY??? that would be the biggest waste of money in the world and the largest headache...you would have to fab a custom rear subframe and new engine and tranny mounts.reinforce the unibody...oops forgot to mention a rather expensive part...an s2000 drivetrain.


since im assuming you drive an accord and just just saw F&F3 and want to be a drifter now why dont you just buy a factory RWD car and drift it...if you wanna be original go drift a mercury grand marquis or something

seriously, attempting something like this an you say you are "On a budget". the amount of CUSTOM fabrication, wiring, labor, etc will be RETARDED. let alone a S2K motor set isnt exactly EASY to find.

Do yourself a favor, buy an S2K or get a 240sx.

Haha, great responses so far, even the criticizms. I know it is a retarded waste of money. Buying a stock is RWD is much cheaper - thats a no brainer:doh: . If thats all I wanted to do, then I would have never posted?

Seeing a final of what I'd like to do would be like discovering a new species of animal or some shit. You mean to tell me if you saw an accord doing a burnout and launching form the rear off the line you wouldnt be dying to see whats under tha hood or at least double take/pinch yourself to make sure you werent high lol? And no, FNF3 had way to much CG for my taste. I've been ass-dragging since I went V6 and ditched the geo (~1998,1999?). Its fun, but it gets old when you cant hold it on the highway.

F20Cs are sold regularly from www.jspecauto.com (http://www.jspecauto.com/) and a few other online places.Some even complete with the tranny...all I'd have to order would be the rear axle with the rear S2k suspension frame. Ppl sell shit-ass accords with intact bodies but finished engines (oil issues)on www.craigslist.org (http://www.craigslist.org/) ALL THE TIME.

Budget doesnt meant can never afford to do it. Just means dont plan on having this done in under a months time (slow roasted).

your right, all you have to do is buy the swap, an the rear suspension frame, WAHLAH your done.

I suggest you go do some reserch on what it would take.

If anyone in the state can do it, Turbo Dave can, and he works for us. But im telling you right now, $15000 minimum

Oh I know. I already expected the pirce to be atleast 75% of the orginal MSRP of both cars combined. I really just threw this thread up here to find leads on who in GA might beable to pull it off. This project I probably wont even begin until well after Im out of school - paid off in full. Right now Im just gonna beat it around in a RHD RX-7 so I can go to a training school for drift, etc as soon as I find an overseas distributor I have researched to be legitimate enough to hand over a few Gs to. (or better yet just buy a used S2000 since Im gonna need its guts later on lol?)

Gotta start somewhere, and I'll be damned if I enter a few comps and shows with that fabricated masterpiece only to take a wrong turn and crack some suspension component out of my own ignorance towards the sport and technique.

the s2k looks WAY better than an accord, why waste your time destroying a car to be original.

I wont say it impossible but if your on a budget its not going to happen. There is going to be serious modding to the chassis of the car front and rear. If its the f20c you want get and put in an old s600 that would be sick, but no the accord.
