View Full Version : B16 CRX Vs. Civic SI (Boosted B16)

I have a 90 CRX with B16 pushing 150 whp, my buddies pushes 193 whp at 8 PSI on a T3/T4 turbo. I'm also using a Zex 75 Shot. On a hwy run in 3rd gear at around 70 MPH I jumped 1st and immediately @ WOT started spraying, the Civic SI stayed beside me for about a few seconds. Ran till fuel cut-off at 112, he was about 1/2 car behind me. My bottle was near empty and was it was cool that day so Nitrous pressure wasn't all the way up.

you raced a 99-00 si? or the older models Si? yeah i confurr with teh previous 2, sucks for that Si

the SI is UNTUNED at 6psi not 8 psi. he did 1 hour of BASE TUNING and thats all. theres another 30-40 whp in the car easily. he didnt have the money to do full tuning

Also the SI has low compression rods and pistons, and a STOCK INTAKE MANIFOLD. with a JG manifold it should make 270-280 at the wheels on 10psi IMO.

Kevin is also running 500lb lighter chassis.

before you guys say "that SI sucks" take all that into account. i know both cars personally. I built the CRX and i know the owner of the SI extremely well and was present at his tuning session.

thanks for clearing it up with the specs Mike, (this is what he told me though). this was on 75N of Kennesaw

not taking anything away from a good kill kevin, excellent job. Nitrous is fun isnt it :)

but people were talking trash about the SI and i wanted to let elaborate and let people know whats goiong on.

never said the si sucked at all...i said it sux that he made those numbers at 8lb and be honest i didn;t believe it...sorr y didn;t no it was untune or wut not...i really can;t take shit into account when i assumed the car was tune since he was running 8lbs...i only knew wut kev told me
