HELP! bikes been sitting for a while....

alright so a couple years ago my dad bought a house and with it came furniture and my 2000 Honda Rebel CMX 250 for only $1k more. Anyways i wanted to learn back in the day so i used it for practice since its a pretty light and slow bike but i havent used it for a good while. Recently in attempts to maybe move it and ride it i tried to start and no luck. I knew the battery was weak from sitting in the garage for over a year but it had gas and oil so thought i would give it a crank with it on the battery tender. cranked right up with no problems and idled perfectly. the battery is all charged up and ready to go, kep in mind the battery on it is the OEM honda battery, take the tender off try to crank it and i get a couple turns then all i get is clicks. you can turn the battery is dead just by looking at the headlights while pushing the start button as they get VERY dim just like a car i guess. anyways i go and get a new battery from battery plus, a direct replacement, get it on the tender, charge it up, give it a crank with it on the tender and starts right up. take it off the tender and try and i get nothing. maybe 2 cranks and then nothin but clicks. i get the battery checked once again and its fully charged so my question now is:

Do bikes have something else in the electric that may need to be replaced besides the batttery to get the bike to start up without any problems? I ve jump started it with a car and it comes on fine, idle it, turn it off and try to turn it back on with out a jump and it just clicks. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated because i would love to take it out even though its not the nicest thing in the world but the MPG is great! Im in gwinnett but dont want to risk taking it to a shop with the possible chance of it dieing on me and i wouldnt even know where to take it besides Honda i guess. Anyways if anyone sees this with any comments please speak up! TIA!

batteries can show 12V but not be able to supply proper amperage to start the bike. replace the battery.

i have replaced it with a brand new one, still same problem. is ther anything that acts like an alternator or anythin i might need to replace? a brand new charged battery still wont crank the bike on its own.

the stator is what charges the battery. but the battery alone supplies starting power, so if the batt is new and truly fully charged up, then check the cables and such. if it will start with the battery tender on there then it's either a bad batt or a bad cable most likely.

The voltage regulator could be messed up, and/or a fuse in the electrical system could be blown.

Did you add the distilled water to the battery before putting it in the bike? Most batteries are not maintenance free.
