Acutally, thats underpriced. Good shape Z's go for right around 12k with like 130-150k milage on them....(yes, 1990's) something has to be bad wrong with that car. Honestly you would have better luck selling it on autotrader or ebay.... where no one has seen the history of the car. :jerkit:

No a alternator did not cause over heating i have driven it and it has not overheated with me once i do not know what happened before me but as long as i have had it, it hasn't over heated just to make that clear to anyone interested.

i understand that yes, this is the car selling section but the forums as a whole, isnt. people who come on here just to sell cars, shouldnt be here. thats all. i still think it is a little hard to beleive that the car hasnt had any issues with it since you got it and you havent fixed the issue. and not to say that it will happen, but ive test driven cars with no antifreeze before where someone tried to dry run it and 10 minutes into the test drive the temp gauge starting fluctuating. soooo, that being said, i dont understand how a car that everyone else saw with issues, just kinda fix itself.

and as far as my comment bout people just buying and selling here, ALL of your posts are either you selling or trying to buy something without any kind of other imut to IA other than using us as your free autotrader.

no i never rode in it so no, i never saw it, but if it ran hot 20 minutes, theres a possibility of damage and there should be rules because the only reason you are even allowed to post this is cause youve been on IA so long but have no posts but you think you should be allowed to use a free forum to sell your car instead of using autotrader and ESPECAILLY since there were other problems with this car in the old thread that were mentioned

actually I think 3.5k is a pretty good deal for a N/A ZX overheating or not... I sold my N/A on here not to long ago for 4k, but mines was modded a little... from what I remember from the history of this car was that it was overheating but the owner that bought it ended up fixing it... but who knows whats going on with it now... either way, bump for a fellow ZX owner....

WHERE TO START?

1) It is the BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY to do a thourough check on the vehicle they are purchasing. If they take his word for it that it doesnt overheat, then thats the BUYERS fault, not the sellers. thats why its called BUYER BEWARE not SELLER BEWARE.

2) If the car overheated BEFORE, can anyone prove that it overheates NOW?

3) NA 300ZXs go for $3000-6000 depending on year an mileage, TT models can go for $7000-20000. Now, they are NIGHTMARES to work on, they have TONS or problems, shitty engines, cronic failures and i never understood the appeal of them. we just did a TT swap to a JDM engine, and it was a $2500 job, labor, timing belt, WP, new hoses. That didnt include the motor, thats how labor intensive it is.

4) Is it morally wrong for this guy t sell a car without divulging all the info, yes. But the word is out, and this is obviously a problem car hes trying to ditch.

5) IA is talking about moderating or changine the FS forum rules. But even if you make it 100posts before you can go in the FS forum, that will just promote whoring. it wont stop all of it, itll slow it down. but thats it. All we can do now is rely on the moderating team like Rut, Stretch, GATEG etc.

I am former Z car owner, I've bought and sold a few, and I can testify that your numbers are a little high. N/A Z cars with 100k+ are worth about $3-$6k, depending on conditions. TT cars will bring $5k-$10k depending on condition. The only way ANY Z car is going to get over the $10k mark, it will HAVE TO be a TT, be in MINT or near mint condition, and have a nice set of high quality mods, not just some cheezy Ebay bolt on stuff. Sure, you can find people asking stupid money for their Z cars in hopes of finding someone that is crazy enough to pay that much for it, but that doesnt mean that it will sell for that much. Anyone that knows the Z cars knows what they are worth and what they can get one for, depending on what it is.

Testify all you want. I worked at z1, I saw z's come in and out the door like crazy. Being sold, being worked out, broken, running awesome....whatever. Ive seen an NA in this condition go for like 1k higher in the least..... you have your expierence, and I have mine. I state mine from working at a shop and dealing with them for almost a year...and still do deal with them in a round about way.... you state yours from being a previous owner, thus...both being accurate.... sure the information varies... but this shit just doesnt seem right to me.

When i was ten i could tell you everything about that car down to the gear ratio differances between the N/A and TT. I knew I had to have one shortly after the October '89 issue of Road & Track hit the stands...i was 9.

When i was ten i could tell you everything about that car down to the gear ratio differances between the N/A and TT. I knew I had to have one shortly after the October '89 issue of Road & Track hit the stands...i was 9.

i did the EXACT same thing LOL.

Fawk_you, be truthfull, did you REALLY work at Z1

Fawk_you, be truthfull, did you REALLY work at Z1yeah, she did...sometimes even more than just being in front of the camera. Think Russell had her taking apart the salvage cars that came in...but still doesn't mean she had the love or knowledge of Z's that he or his employees did.

WAS SHE NOT THERE WHEN THIS CAR CAME IN TO HAVE THE SHIFTER REBUILT??dunno, i rebuilt mine myself...the heat from the exhaust dryed out/melted/deteriorated the rubber mount that holds the shifter up...driving down the road one day mine broke and i had to drive around holding the shifter up otherwise if would drop down and bounce on top of the drive shaft

You think I actually kept up with who's cars get what work done? :lmfao: You have GOT to be kidding me. As many cars that came in the door, and right back out it in the same day or a week later.... id have to be crazy to waste that much time out of my life.

You wanna know how obsessed i was...from when i was 16 until 18+ i would get the autotrader nearly every week and cut out every single new Z32 ad and put it into a binder stacked full of baseball card sleeves...over 2 years of comparing prices and watching them fall until it hit a point where i gave in. When i was ten i could tell you everything about that car down to the gear ratio differances between the N/A and TT. I knew I had to have one shortly after the October '89 issue of Road & Track hit the stands...i was 9.

The prices HELLRAZOR said is exactly correct. Hell, Russell only wanted like $8k for the grey JWT 400hp TT he had.
Jason yeah I believe that to the 100% of you being that way about Z's. From working at Z1, I actually could tell you what cars where what year from not even knowing the year model.... (all the little secrets on how each year and make model varies) ;)

Mike and Jason, I actually know more about Z's then I did about toyota's. Heck, I worked at a nissan specialty place for almost a year(that was alot more time then I ever had to deal with a toyota).... and am still around my best friend having to hear about it day in and day out. Yes, I did work there... http://www.z1motorsports.com/AboutUs.php ....yet again having to convey my truths...whatever though. And I did a little bit of everything. Installing test pipes, to dyno'n cars, boostleak tests, to stripping apart old motors and parting them out.... having to learn those parts.... bah!

lol, that can be done by the paint color...certain colors available only certain years, passenger airbag (optional though), spoiler was changed in '94, then of course no hamburger emblem in 1990...that's about all you need to know

I actually never knew by the paint, only interior pieces... I was taught that first, and sorta put up a barrier to learn any differently. lol

This car is tight. Even if it did have mechanical problems if you know what you are doing you can swap it or fix the problem. Slap on some rims and a body kit, paint job, a few other things and you have one bad arse Z.

I test drove the car last weekend and it does need a good bit of work done to it. The car ran good but it definatley needs some good work in every department.
