So I now have a Dell Dimensions 4500S, which I have had since 2002; my freshman year in college. Its time for me to upgrade after a virus problem gone bad and I need advice on which laptop is the best. I am really into pictures so I will definatly need alot of memory space... anyone?

ummm if it's just basic internet use you can get just about anything. I like acer brand, toshiba, and IBM. If you like pictures and are going to be saving high resolution pics i'd go with a screen that's 15 - 15.4 and a 80 and up hard drive. about 512 RAM. and a processor from like 1.6ghz and up. ok and my price for that advice is 1 supra ;-) haha. gimme a minute and i'll throw some examples out for you.

about 512 RAM. and a processor from like 1.6ghz and up.

Concentrate on this and you pretty much can't go wrong. Just about every laptop on the market will be able to handle the requirements you've listed.

Photoshop requires a bit of processor power, so I would suggest an AMD processor. The HP dv6000 has one, and for $1300 you can have a dream laptop.

ewww a gateway. gateways are like old supras. They look nice but for what ever reason run like shit. Shoulda waited for the dual core 64bit laptops. then you could have taken advantage of vista.
