I just bought a new wide angle lens for my D70. I got the Sigma 10-20mm (http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?navigator=6). Unfortunately, it started to rain so I couldn't take any pics downtown today, but here are some interior shots of my house. This lens is pretty sick. I love the 10mm wide angle.

Hey fella, can you get a pic with a regular lens, something like a 18-70mm or something close, in almost the same spot as one of these.... only if you dont mind! Just want to see how big of a difference it made!

Nice lens Dean. I had a buddy up in Chicago compare a Sigma lens versus the Nikon lens side by side, and our shots were practically identical, and we both shot with the same camera on a tripod with same settings. Sigma makes some quality stuff. Im actually in the market for a nice prime lens and probably looking towards another Sigma.

A D-SLR straight out of the box with a standard kit lens cant really take wide angle shots. Another lens has to be used.

I have the 18-200. I will try and take some pics from the same spots.

That would be awesome man, I have to take pics of inside houses all the time for my company and this would help out a lot!

I actually bought a Digital Optics wide angle converter w/Macro lens... the macro lens works great but the wide angle is nothing to be happy about, or no where close to your shots(being wide enough)!

These are from the exact same spots. I put the sigma back on and viewed the picture from last night with what I saw in the view finder to find the same spot, and put on the Nikon 18-200.

dude, i'm stealing some of your paint colors  I already started staining my cabinets the same as your dining room table and chairs, hoping it will look good with yellow and stainless steel......What i'm not looking forward to is sanding my damn ceiling to get all that freakin spray stucco/spackel crap off that seems to be in every house for the past century. hrmm...maybe i'll just take the cheapest 1/4" drywall i can find and cover it up, tape, mud...paint and say screw sanding upside for hours and hours :dunno:

oh yeah, great pics...i need a another camera!

Learn your camera!!!!!!! Owning a D-SLR and not knowing how to use it isnt any good. Just because you have one doesnt mean you can will be able to take shots out of the box like this. I think a lot of people have this notion that to be a good photographer you have to have high end equipment.

D-SLR's are great in their own way, but unless you plan on getting serious with photography, a high end point and shoot will give you more versatility for the money. Buying lenses left and right add up quick :( The only reason I have two D-SLR's is for the fact that if Im away on an event and something happens to the main body, I wont be stuck hundreds of miles away from home without a camera to shoot with. Or if shooting a once in a lifetime type event (such as a wedding) the customer isnt screwed out of what they paid for.
