basically to get a computer in you car you either need a laptop or a small custom computer. then i got a tv that had vga input and 2 video inputs on it so that i could connect the computer and ps2 to the tv. then it just took some time to find the right connectors to make everything work. hopefully that answers some more of your questions, and you if have any more, feel free to ask me

i want to see it in person, i know how to do everything involved myself but i have never messed with it because i was always concerned with the software side of it.

the computer has an adaptor that goes into the playstation. they're not that expensive. check circut city or best buy or somewhere like that. then throw in your monitor and fabricate a mount for a ps2 like his and mout it all and connect it then your ready to jam.

That's pretty sweet man. I used to have one in my talon it was smashed when I got rear-ended (along with my poor car http://www.streetdisturbance.com/ubb/cry.gif) So what are the system specs? what are you using for input, touch screen?

i got 2 12" alpine type r's with a hifonics amp. its a touch screen monitor so i dont need a mouse or anything and if i need to type i can either use the on-screen keyboard or plug in a usb one.

A power inverter, isn't that noisy? I have an opus solutions power supply. It's made for carputers, DC/DC (I think or whatever type of power cars produce...hehe I'm no electrician) power inverter with some extra features (like it will power th computer down if it senses your battery voltage dropping too low. But then again when I had my carputer, it was just the computer no playstation, so I guess you would need the inverter for that. btw if anyone wants that power supply I'm selling it.

nope, no extra nose. the only time i hear any noise is when i power the inverter off listening to music you hear like a pop. i have heard some problems with the opus making noise. mine is wired directly to the battery through a relay if that makes a difference between yours.
