thanx danny. its not a off the shelf kit. i put it together.

i didnt like paying 8k-11k for a AA kit or TT kit.

so i sourced the same parts they used at cheaper prices and came out on top.

i have a whole list of all my parts in a threa on bimmerforums i can certainly cut and paste over here if you want to see it.

$3070.65

PnP TEC III - $2000 dollars

so far sitting at $5070.65

Then add a UUC Cerametallic Clutch and Pressure plate - 688.00

Total with everything AND clutch $5758.65

got quoted on a full 3 inch exhaust from downpipe to muffler with all flanges and O2 sensor bungs for 700 dollars with me doing nothing(good price in my opinion)

so when all said and done everything finished i wil be sitting at 6458.65 including full stand alone tec3

take away the tec3 and the entire kit sits right at 4458.65

in my opinion a pretty good price for full kit which still includes a clutch kit, full exhaust, gauges and all SS lines and great quality parts that can make over 400 hp.

the guys against tec3 are the ones who are running either AEM PnP system which are very few at this point because it is all custom and the others against it are the ones who decided to get ther DME reflashed by either NickG with TT or AA.

which are both great routes.

i didn twant to get my DME reflashed because i wanted to get rid of the MAF and switch to MAP although many will say that MAFs are more accurate.

also i wanted to be able ot retune anytime i wanted with the tec3 if i ha gone with a reflash from TT or AA then i woudl be forced to pay them to retune again and reflash.

since i am learning the TEC system pretty quickly i soon wil be able to street tune my car with the PLX wideband sensor and be able to data log with ease.
i also plan on going to EFI101 university and taking training classes to better my self in all EMS systems but mostly Electromotive.

dont bother withg Piggy backs like Greddy E manange. very very few have gotten the E manange ultimate to work with E36 to control both FUEL and TIMING. the original E manage BLUE box others have got to control timing AND fuel but that system is so outdated and hard to use compared to the e mannage ultimate now but then again back to square one you wont get it to work with ease curently. it can be done but not to the average user.

personlly i like the TEC3. it was PnP for me so install took 5 min. hook up the laptop and can change values on the fly while tuning (of course have to save the file and reload after your done) the interface you use is nice and well laid out. only draw back is you get a 16x16 fuel and timing table towork with compared to AEM which gets 32x32 tables. but the again 16x16 is plenty for what most people need at least for me.

how is reliability on your system. I thoguht about having Nick tune mine. But i hit the same delima, its $1500+ for a tune, that might need to be altered after you change fuel/timing/boost ect. Tec3 is expensive, but if inables the motor to stay in one peice, im down with that.

I want about 320whp for a nice streetable setup that should be reliable. just not sure i want to drop 6500 on building a kit.

yea i hear ya on that but remember its 6500 with the tec 3 the actual kit i put together was right arounf 4500 minus the clutch and exhaust brings down to about 3500-3800.

that Eurobahn kit i recomend as well. its a well put together Centrifugal supercharger kit and you wi make your 320 easily with 42lb injectors and a good tune.

did u see the tuning system they recomend for that kit.. wonder if its any good?
