This is a video of a buddy of mine that owns a shop up in Gainesville. They do a lot of Rotary stuff.

This car is a 72 MG Midget chassis with a built Rotary powertrain. The car runs 11's on motor alone. These guys are Rotary gurus.

Anyway, last November (on Commerce's very last night of the entire season) he was doing some passes just to test out some things. Well, he got to test out the roll cage instead.......he smashed into the wall at 120+MPH. He didn't even know anyone had video of it until today. He called me and it's pretty impressive. The quality of the video is not ultra great, but you get to see exactly what happened. BTW, he is just fine now, but the car was a total loss.

It did sound like a little girl crying in the background, didn't it?

But NO, he didn't have his kids there.

Oh yea I remember that, I was there. Was some crazy stuff. Everytime that rotary car shifted its back wheels would pop off the ground, making it unstable when it hit the groung again. I bet that was why.

Dude, he almost took your friend with him. Had Danny not been ahead of him by a few, he could've easily taken him out with him. Your friend was quick on the brakes, which is good. One lucky guy. :goodjob:

I'm glad he didn't though. Could've been worse.

I think his kids were there... not sure. b/c when he wrecked a lady carrying and draggin a kid were rushing to the scene...

They also stayed in the ambulance with him untill he got out...

I stand totally corrected. Just called him and INDEED his family was there. What you hear in the background is his SON crying out. His wife nearly passed out. When she got to where he wrecked, the paramedics wouldn't tell her if he was alright or not. He was passed out in the car for 15 mins while they got him out. She, of course, thought he was dead since the paramedics didn't answer her.

I was totally wrong on that one. He normally doesn't bring them to track, but I guess this was an exception. That's scary right there. I wouldn't want my family seeing me go thru that.....not that anyone would of course.

Ya I was standing right behind them. I just thought they were some random ppl, untill the wreck. It was crazy, as soon as he hit the wall his wife just scooped up the kids and hauled ass!

Well good thing he was ok.

Oh yea I just called my boy in the SRT, they said that they didn't need his help and wouldn't let him stay, b/c he was insurance risk or something... couldn't quite hear wat he said

You're right. Them boys do some crazy things with Rotary motors. In PR is even crazier. They've put a rotary in just about every car imaginable. They are wild when they race on the beach with paddle tires.....
