I don't wanna answer for him....but I'm gonna do it anyway.

No IRS brace or anything to make it "safe" to launch from a dig, so I'm pretty sure he will only go from a roll.

Oh.
Do you like to run your z06 from a stop?

I haven't yet, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it.

It's hard to launch....but there's only one way to learn :)

Kinda sucks it has the torque management written into the ECU. I was reading a post by Ranger, saying that the better you launch the car, the more the TM affects it down the run. The better his 60' time was, the worse his quarter mile time was. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I wanna say his 1.7 60' yielded him a 11.5 quarter, but his 1.9s 60' got him an 11.21. Something like that.

Anyway, my point is....I'm not sure how good the car will run from a dig, but I am certainly interested to try it. It's just a matter of finding a good spot to do it.

P.S. I prefer to go from a roll, because the videos we make are trying to compare the cars instead of the drivers. We feel that going from a 50mph+ roll, there's not much you can really screw up. Things aren't going to be perfect, but from a roll you eliminate a lot of driver error, and come closer to seeing a matchup of the vehicles involved.

I don't know about newer Mustangs, but back in the day when I was running my old '85 Vette around the town I grew up in, there were a million Mustangs (mostly fox bodies) around that wanted to race me. NONE of them wanted to go from a dig, all of them wanted to go from a roll. I always wanted to go from a dig in that car, 'cause it launched like mad. But I always had far better traction than any Mustang I raced.

This is true, my skills are of no comparison to a shop, but I would never take my car to a shop to fix something that myself or my friends can do ourselves. If I run into a few problems so be it, fix it and keep steping. Bottom end is stock.

550whp? Is that possible? meaning, do you really think that car was putting out that much? Is your car running 350whp+? Since your car is light, I would assume with at least 350-450 whp it would be similiar to a cobra with that much power.

Mark, a GT30 eh? Are all the GT turbo's ball bearing? Anyone else you know have a GT series turbo without the BB. I have a half GT turbo (compressor only standard t3 garrett wheel).

It may be a little while before I run from a stop. The 03 Cobras have an IRS which without some build-up, doesn't like to dig race and will break the halfshafts with the quickness. I'm going to retain the IRS, so Level 5 Halfshafts, all necessary bushings along with the IRS Brace will go on soon. I'll post up when I'm ready to run from digs.

When Lankhoss and I ran the 600RR I was ~516/506tq I assume I'm still around there even with one cylinder at 92% leakdown, it's just burning some oil, going to get it checked out soon, probably pull the head off and see if it's valves or a damaged ring.

Anyways, the dyno #'s in my sig are just for decoration so I can look all fast 'n furious, click the link for my real #'s, :lmfao:

That 600RR is fast, he pulled out ~2 bikes, maybe more from 65-105, then I "missed" 4th because I don't think the clutch fully disengaged.

I looked up the stats for the '05 CBR600RR and it's a 133 MPH trap with a pro rider,

Daytime racing is nice for camera work. What I don't like about daytime racing, is there is usually more traffic out. My #1 concern is not interferring with, or endangering OTHER people when I feel like doing childish feces on the highway. If I lose control and spin my car out of control at 100+ mph and kill myself, so be it. But other people shouldn't be hurt or get killed when I do it.

Sorta like the upside down Viper in the ditch. No one else got hurt in that fiasco ;-)

(ok, that's a terrible analogy....and I'm totally kidding. That REALLY sucked, and I feel terrible for the guy)

We usually don't plan these things out. We just decide to go out cruising at the last minute....and sometimes come across people like this. There have been a few times we've actually planned races between ourselves (late at night), but other than that, it's usually pretty spontaneous.

Man... pulling this stuff again...

If I remember correctly... when I had 389whp, I was racing ppl all the time with more power than me... (420whp g35, 420whp+ 350z, 400whp FD, 400whp Supra, 450whp+ Supra, viper srt-10's, corvette z06's, other 380~400whp evo's, porsche 911's and a gt3, etc.).. most of those races are on tape too.

Please understand that one, I'll race almost anyone for fun... the only exception are ppl who have beef with me or I have beef with for whatever reasons... honestly, and you can ask my passanger Jeremy (who drives that cbr600rr), I thought I was gonna lose to Lankhoss's c6z06 on the AEM settings I was at. There's also a reason why I was asking to race that 600whp+ mach1 you all had... and that car's making way more power than I was that night.

With all bullshit aside, I'm not sure where you're getting this idea of me from... but say what'cha want. =]

Not quite sure who the 600whp Mach 1 is? You sure that was one of our friends?

And I think where he's getting the "idea from" is you knew exactly what you were up against when you raced me, but refused to let us know what you were running in your car. So it's not so ridiculous for people to think you had your car tuned for just enough to match or beat me. And since this is basically the only contact we've had with you, when we hear other people say you refuse to race unless you can have your car in a position where you KNOW it's faster, then it's pretty easy for us to believe them.

Charles has absolutely no problem losing guys, since before we knew who you guys were he was always telling me how much he wanted to race a c6 z06, he had absolutely no idea exactly how much power he was making the night he raced you guys.. that was a few days after a northpoint meet (which was the day he got his car back on a base tune to be able to drive it around) he also told me he thought he was going to lose to lankhoss that night.

everyone on here that says charles doesnt race cars he would lose to is usually a random idiot, or a bitter fuck.

We've decided on the Walmart near Mall of GA, at 6:00 on Saturday. To get there, you take I-985 north to the first exit. It's exit 4, Highway 20. You take a right off the exit, then make a left at the first light. There's usually a huge section of empty parking lot there, so we should be able to park quite a few cars

Again, it's just east of I-985 on Highway 20. No specific plans, but we'll all hang out, BS, maybe make some cruising videos. And possibly (hopefully) head up to Jillians to watch some boxing!!
