i had a quick question does a 2000 prelude stereo installation like a civic...cause i know on civics if u have remote door locks u must splice the old stereo and hide it behind the dash...does this go the same for the prelude i will have to splice the old radio into the new one and stash it somewhere behind the dash so that the remote door locks will work?

not familiar with that car, but I do know some radios (like an 06 Saturn) have onstar and such actually built into the radio. Unless theres a bypass made for it (which there probably is considering the age) then you ahve to keep the stock radio.

No that is not needed at all. I have a 5th gen Lude and it was a simple swap....OEM for an Alpine. I am only using the power and ground connections since all my speakers are amped. There is no need for any kind of splicing for the power locks or windows. A simple wire harness will work just fine !
