There are many different types of enthusiasts... I don't think you even really have to own an import car or something similar to be an enthusiast. I would say knowledge is the basis but the more knowledge and the more experience the more of an enthusiast you are. If you have love for the import scene that is just the beginning.

These are the questions I want answered...I do appreciate the people that have answered honestly thank you...For the rest...We come onto IA to start shit, see shit start, and egg shit on...Its fun..It is...But sometimes people simply ask questions they want answered...That is the only reason that I asked...

I mean, shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittt that guy is loaded - and not with just exotics ) - he's a high enthusiast of the uniqueness of cars - for example if he's giving you a tour and you get to the McLaren F1, he wont really talk about how fast it is, instead he'll show off the titanium toolkit that comes with it - so what defines an enthusiast is pretty broad, but as long as your not posing to be something your not, and have a love for cars, then to me you're an enthusiast

:D haha - it also got me to thinking - you got other types of enthusiats too - take mine/RandomGuy's cars for example - the Mistubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest - there is no common aftermarket for them - but there is a cult of sorts of enthusiats that mod them, and its those types of enthusiasts that figured out hey - the MAS off a 1G Eclipse makes our cars run better! The intake manifolds off of Dodge Caravan's are better than our stock ones - and lets get some MultiPort Injection systems from Australia, convert them, create our own harnesses and create an upgrade for our cars to MPI from a throttle body setup - those people are the hardcore enthusiasts. You also got the people who dropped in the 4G63 engine ( Eclipse engine ) into our cars - a FWD engine into a RWD car? Took some research, but a 4G64 ( same block as 4G63 only in rwd format ) with a 4G63 turbo head fit. But it didn't fit the tranny - somehow, they managed to discover that with a 2nd gen RX7 tranny and a Ford Turbo Probe clutch, that the engine setup would just fall right in. These types of people are the no bullshit true type enthusiast about the car they own, and ever car make has them

Historical usage

Originally an enthusiast is a person possessed by a God. Thus Socrates speaks of the inspiration of poets as a form of enthusiasm.

Thus a Syrian sect of the 4th century was known as the Enthusiasts. From their belief in the efficacy of prayer, they were also known as Euchites. Several protestant sects of the 16th and 17th centuries were called enthusiastic. Modern Usage
