June 18th Mountain Run!!!

It's time for the first big run of the summer...!

Time: Sunday, June 18th - 10:00am
Location: Home Depot - Hwy. 400 N. across from the Premium Outlet Mall in Dawson Co.

Meeting at Home Depot @ 10am or so and heading north at 10:30. Plan to cookout at the usual location, Vogel State Park ($3.00 per car fee!), intersection of Hwy. 180 & 129 N. The route is not to be advertised on here ;) In the next couple weeks I'll add your name to the list if you're bringing something...alot of stuff like ice, drinks, etc. can be purchased within minutes of the park and please bring radios (walkie-talkies) if you have them. Portable CB radios are a plus! :goodjob:

We'll discuss the route once we meet and I have credit card sized maps printed with all the roads and general landmarks labeled just in-case anyone gets seperated...we normally make several stops to re-group anyways: couple gas stations, major interesections, etc. Goood times.

I want to go but we have to be careful because last time I was on my way there for a mountain run, all of the 10 or more cars I was with, got pulled over for doin 45 in a 60 or 65 zone. And Forsyth County is expensive. It seems like they want to put a stop on those runs.

Its not about being careful, its about being smart. There isnt any point in exceeding the speed limit by much on the highway or other roads getting to the runs. I doubt them giving you a speeding ticket had a damn thing to do with the fact that you were going on the run, especially since the runs usually start 2 counties away!

Its not about being careful, its about being smart. There isnt any point in exceeding the speed limit by much on the highway or other roads getting to the runs. I doubt them giving you a speeding ticket had a damn thing to do with the fact that you were going on the run, especially since the runs usually start 2 counties away!


We weren't speeding. we were goin 45 on a 60 for the same reason that we didn't want any problems but pig said we lookd suspicious and plus they said they wanted to prevent accidents on the mountains so we decided 2 go up the mountain anyway but there were some more cops right before u go uo the mountain and they pulled us over again

As loud as my car typically is while in the mountains, I will put my phone in the door's little handle that you shut the door with. That way it's pretty close and not inside anything...

And Jason, what is the master baiter? lol You mean fishing? More than likely we won't fish this run unless we go on Sat. By the time we get up there, there won't be much time for fishing. I'm sure most will be itching to get back on the road.. :goodjob:
