so on my way to work today i am taking the same way i've been taking for 2 years. i'm on a back road to go around traffic on 140 and the speed limit is 35 but it's long and open and i have never seen a police on that road at 8 in the morning. every day i do like 50-60 down it. i know that is bad on my part but it's been the same basically every day for 2 years so yeah. well today there was a police man sitting on the other side of a small hill getting people with a radar gun. i was doing 55. i wasn't quick on may feet and didn't think of anything to get out of it because it was fucking early and i got no sleep last night. i just bought my car and i still have a temp tag in the rear window. he asked if i had the spedometer checked when i bought the car. i was like "no, should i?" he said i should take it to a shop and have the spedo checked, and if there is something wrong with it that makes the speed wrong and i can prove it then the whole thing will get dropped. he then made the ticket for 49 in a 35. so after all that, here is may question. what could i disconnect or mess with that can make the spedometer mess up? like i could just disconnect, take it to a shop, have them fix it, then use that to show that it was messed up. please help me. thanks in advance.

Pull the speedometer cable out of the transmission housing...but fluid might just leak out the top.

mmmmmmm i think if u get bigger rims it makes the car speedo think its going faster. or that is what i have heard bigger or smaller rims i think mess with the speedo.
im not sure but i think that is what happens.

if he wrote the ticket for 49 in a 35, thats only 14 over. that ticket wont go on your record, i wouldn't fight it, just pay the fine. you know you were speeding and so did the cop, he was nice enough to write it for 14 over so it wouldn't go on your record.

you gosta get the 30 inch rims, then you can blame it on the bigger wheels and tires.

sorry to thread jack, but I got pulled over on 141, going 74 in a 55. Would that ticket go on my record?

Also, since it's my first ticket / anything that I've recieved, I hear that I can plead no lo. What are the conditions for pleading no lo if any?

I don't think that you can if you are under 21 - at least my brother couldn't. Even though he had turned 21 before the court date, they would not let him do it becuse he was 20 when it happened. Other than that, I don't know.
