so i get this email a few days ago my account was locked down b/c it was accessed by a 3rd party posting items... they were listing some cars under my name... i was like WTF, i had one item i was selling and somehow they fucked that up too, so now i'm like WTF... did they get any other account info of mine... b/c they made me change my password etc... this shit is gay :2up:

kinda shady too b/c EBAY caught it and emailed me... i'm wondering if they had a security breach and my account was one affected :thinking:

hm.. my friend said his ebay got hijacked too
and that they posted a whole bunch of items
but ebay didn't notify him, he just discovered it.

I was getting e-mail from eBay that i needed to update my paypal information otherwise it would be locked...legitimate mail from eBay, no links, just said update it. Was getting it once or twice a month and never changed anything....it was never locked either. :dunno:

I dont do IT work for a living and ive had similar emails from "eBay" needing my account info to "update" their system. I forwarded the email to the real eBay and they said that it was someone trying to steal my shit... :rolleyes: assholes dont know how to earn an honest living...

That is a scam. I've been getting it too for a year. You wouldn't believe how many thousands of people have fallen for it (according to Clark Howard). It looks real.

i had to sit w/ their online support today to get everything unlocked... :jerkit: it has nothing to do w/ a scam email... someone actually was able to get my login and start posting shit... (actually its my wifes acct, but i use it) but either way i don't think i'm the only one b/c this was out of no where... its just wierd ebay caught the shit... they caught it before i did. no emails were even sent to me regarding listings, so they were that quick which was good but seems fishy like they were hacked or something and not saying anything.

I have heard of people sending email posing at ebay to say change your password or w/e or your account will be locked. Just trying to look out.

yea dere r alot of scamming emails out there... but lately I've heard of ebay accounts also getting hijacked.
