If we're counting all taxes of any kind... 28%

I'm an accountant... that hurts.

nah man ... it was exactly 19.6...
i subtracted net pay from gross pay, and then divided that by gross pay.

i'm a full time student, if that gives me any breaks? dont know... but i dont get SHIT of that back even at tax time, which really pisses me off.

Mine is 28%, how would I have any idea how much you pay in taxes?

(and you just divide your total taxes by your gross to get the percentage, no subtraction involved)

You should be taking a deduction or credit for your tutition on your tax return, that's about it. It doesn't effect your paycheck in any way, unless you adjust your withholdings to offset your refund.

a lot of times students get more upfront instead of gettin it through returns. 30% of my check goes to taxes, ss, 401k and benefits.
