I dunno - you look at the first race or whatever and you dont even see the Evo pulling away from the car behind it...

and even if the case was the Civic was faster, as someone once said, I dont care how fucking fast it is, its still a Civic

that evo wasn't trying. It looked like a stock suspension, so if he down shifted and punched it, you'd see his headlights lift. There was none of that. Might have been a decent race at the track, but on the hwy, that EVO would have beat him.

they ran from a roll, they were already in gear. from a roll i can see the evo loosing (stock). my old protege(t3/t4@8psi turonetics kit 213whp/237wtq) from a 30-40 roll would walk away from an evo no problem) that honda is way lighter and probably makes close to the same power NA....could have been a real race...haha either way the honda sure had a boot in it!

That vid is legit. An EVO is only a 13 sec car stock (there ARE a few freaks of nature out there though). And this isn't "some guys" video. It's Hybrid Racing... legit shop, doing legit swaps, and legit racing. People kill me by not wanting to accept simple shit. Can you spit in any direction and find an EVO that will wax a K swapped EG, sure. But the bottom line is that the K-swap w/ a gutted hatch and exhaust nets 12.50s to 13.0s any way you slice it.

WTF? You do realize they are in the same category of compact car? Yeah they're different performance wise outta the box but the evo is still just a crappy car with awd and a turbo. Have you ever even sat inside an evo? Its got an ugly interior and most civic interiors look tasteful in comparison. IMO modded civic>evo. Plus it can be cheaper to mod a 10y/o civic.

are you joking? that power in a protege(2500lbs) is quite a bit. it was almost dead on with my buddies WRX with a deadbolt IHI swap@15-16lbs/3"TB/FMIC/flashed(~255-260whp)from a roll up to ab ~120 or so then he would start to pull away

Yes and no. K20 tranny = 6 speed, close gears... and I'd imagine toss in a short-throw on top of that. :)

but still tho, the pause between shifts is very short. Well, I can't shift that fast in my car at least, the cable tranny won't allow it cause it grinds :confused:

you are completely correct! Last edition of Honda Tuning featured an eg hatch with k series running a 12.2 1/4 mile.

I know. That one had the KPro I think though, but yeah. I am wondering why people see an EVO lose and can't take it. EVOs are BAD ass, and had they ran from a dig at the track EVO would have jumped out on the hatch... but the top end the EVO would have gotten ran down any way you slice it.
