archery or bow hunting/fishing

i've desided to go bow hunting this year as i can hit a soda can using an iron site on 7.62mm (like .308) at 700m. last season i had this perfect 200m shot and it didnt seem fair for me to be shooting a deer at that distance with a rifle, so i didnt. at anyrate, is there anyone here who goes bow hunting or that can recommend a setup for me? right now im practicing on my dads 40yr old re-curve, like 50lb draw strength(?) and i like it better than most of the compound bows i've handled. so what do you prefer long bow, re-curve, or compound? any adivce would be great.

i also plan to do a bit of bow fishing, looks like fun.
