Japan.
you can import it and play it if you have a modded PS2, if not, just buy Tokyo Extreme Racer Drift (Kaido Battle) at any electronic store for $10.
Although I haven't played D1GP, Tokyo Extreme Racer Drift is surprisingly entertaining and is a cheaper alternative to get a quick fix of racing gaming.
just my :2cents:

My buddy Tripp has it and to be honest, it's not that great. The entire game is in English so you can actually understand it. However, the physics are gay and the gameplay is short. You're either at full angle or no angle at all. There's no middle ground. Also, all the cars feel heavy and bogged down so it makes the game feel slow. The tracks are extremely short, usually lasting about 20-30 secs each. If I were you, I'd skip on D1GP and just get Kaido Battle.

The drifting on NFS Underground is probably the best...i'll challenge anyone :) I just wish those same physics were used on GT4! it just freakin annoys me...barely tap the e-brake and the car comes to a screeching halt and can't power through it...

Check out Play-N-Trade or any place that sells used games. Auto Modellista is pretty easy to come by. :)

hmmmm... I've never really like the handling of any of the Tokyo Extreme series, and Drift is no exception. Auto Modellista is fun, but can get boring quick. IMO the best drifting is on Forza, but thats for XBOX.

Forza motorsport FTW. BTW you will not be able to touch me at drifting in that game.

D1 Grand Prix really sucks if you play it with a dualshock controller, because you're only pressing buttons. This game is really meant for the Logitech Driving Force Pro set at 900 degrees rotation, and it is TONS of fun. It's not one of those games where you just counter steer and floor it. You really have to have good throttle control. I have the original and the 2005 version of the game. I play it a lot when I'm bored.

I have all 3 Kaido Battle games too, but I find myself playing the D1 games more. The real downfall of the D1 games are the load times. Takes forever to load.

Yea I was disappointed with the GT4 drifting physics. You can't even do a donut in the game? GT3 drifting was a lot of fun though.

Hey Korupshun, do you have the Kaido Battle games on PC or PS2? And how'd you get them all? And, now, for the most important question of all, how can I get them and are they worth it if all I have is a controller?

Those games are only for the ps2. I bought Kaido Battle 1 from Wal Mart (Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift), I ordered Kaido Battle 2 from ebay about 2 years ago, I downloaded and burned Kaido Battle 3 off the net.

You can order Kaido: Touge no Densetsu (Kaido Battle 3) from any import game store or ebay. Make sure you have a modded PS2 or swap disc. You don't need a wheel to play the kaido games. I actually use the controller for them. KB3 is the only one that has 900 degrees rotation on the wheel, something the other two don't. D1 cars are unlockable in part 2 and 3.

Thats true, D1GP is great with the Driving Force Pro. The dualshock controller makes the vehicle steer to quick, but with the DFP you have full control especially when counter steering.

Drifting in gt4 sucks. It's not possible. I got crazy ass drift settings that make you drive like a pro drifter though.. If you want the settings, pm me.

P.S. Forza sucks ass for drifting compared to the gt3 settings that I have.

O crap, this game is actually being released here in America next month. It will be the 2005 Japanese version of the game plus a few added American drivers and the GTO.
