Ya I got a speeding ticket near Winward Parrkway for going 65 in a 45 mph zone. Simple enough.
I gave him my licensce and what not and then I asked him what did he use to check my speed. Well he goes "I had a radar but I used my eyes." WTF!!! HOW THE HELL DO YOU USE YOUR EYES??!?!?!?
Then I get the ticket and he goes "Your gonna show up in court in June..blah blah blah."
So now I'm home and go WTF again because now I realized I didn't even sign the godamn ticket. I've signed for both tickets in the past but not this one. So I'm curious what's gonna happen and what should I do. Oh and on the ticket HAAHAH its says "Eye Examination at 65. " HAHAHHAH

You had the right to ask for your radar speed reading. If they didn't show it to you when they wrote you a ticket, you have the right to refuse it.

Crazy Asian

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!???

ECMgarrett
05-11-2006, 06:52 PM
yes, you can refuse it, but you STILL GET THE TICKET lol
watch enough episodes of cops and such and you'll see that on there, doesnt matter if you take the ticket or not, if you sign it or not, if he wrote you a ticket then you got a ticket

ATK_Designs
05-11-2006, 06:53 PM
Yea. But since you received the ticket, you can't do anything about it.

You can try to fight it at court. But the judge will say that they're trained to "Visionize" and judge your speed accordingly.

collins
05-11-2006, 06:55 PM
judging by vision isnt hard evidence.... its still innocent till proven guilty, and thats just your word against his.... which in turn, also sucks balls...

Crazy Asian

they are allowed to issue tickets by using judgement....sounds like the cop was either new, or just crazy....

Honestly I would just ask the judge to drop it 14 over and pay the fine....

Oh ya and it wasn't a cruiser it was motorcycle. Weird.

Yeah... I had a friend who tried to pull that. (i was in the car)

Cops response?

"You'll see the printout in traffic court."

So don't waste your breath.

the police take training courses to detect speed visually. it is legit and you have the ticket.

Pacing IS legal in Georgia, that doesn't mean he has to be drafting you...he can be 20 cars back and knows if he's not catching you nor getting any further from you then he's going about the same speed as you.

BUT as for eye examination...was he driving behind you or just saw you go by?

Take a ping pong ball into court, hold it at head height, and let it drop to the floor...then ask how fast he thinks it was going...

-9.8m/second square. He can time that shit and multiply by that acceleration then totally own you. :)

Crazy Asian

No he was in an another street he told me saw me fly by and told me he examined me going 65. How....seriously how...that's my question.

ECMgarrett
05-11-2006, 09:59 PM
dude, it sucks, we've all gotten tickets, but just own up to it and get a lawyer and get it taken care of

xaznstylegrlx
05-11-2006, 10:01 PM
yeah he can time the ball and get the speed at which it dropped, but he didn't time the guy or what distance the guy travelled. There is no evidence. Come to court, dress nice, smile to the judge and tell them that you weren't speeding and the cop does not have radar proof.

Master Shake

on the ticket HAAHAH its says "Eye Examination at 65. " HAHAHHAH

:lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:
that means there is no proof of how fast your were actually going. (how fast were you going? haha)
you could fight this shit....cause you didn't sign the ticket meaning that you didn't agree to what was written, and since it says "eye examination"...well self explainatory. haha.
Fuck some cops.

one night some guy in a RSX pulled out in front of me and got on it you know....well it just happened to be right before a curve where a county was campin out....and not to mention the rsx was the same color as my car....yea...ticket for me.
so....red RSX Type-S fucker :2up:

nolo?
but yes, if you try to fight this it'll just mean more time out of work meaning less money to have

cause you didn't sign the ticket meaning that you didn't agree to what was written

doesnt mean shit, so he doesnt agree with what was written, big deal, not going to mean a damn thing in court

wrong.
police are trained to visually estimate speed.
the ticket is valid.

-9.8m/second square. He can time that shit and multiply by that acceleration then totally own you. :)terminal velocity of a ping pong ball is about 20mph...at 6 feet or so there won't be enough time to reach it. He could say 10 or 15mph and be close enough or he could say 20 or even 30 estimating 2 to 3 times what the actual speed is...

i think the cop was high.

just go to court and tell them you werent going that fast. "eye examination" is not a speed detection device LOL.
