I got a 1992 240sx and it has a bad CAT. I am going to fix it but I need to get my tag in the mean time. I failed at Jiffy Lube :2up: and now I cant get my tag. If anyone can help me out, please let me know asap. I have to get it done before 05/16/06.

Run the gas out of it and put some premium in. Do a coolant flush and possibly change your thremosate, because if it is running to hot it will fail automatically. That is what I did to get my '87 cutlass to pass after I got the damn thing to run again.

they test obdII cars thru the ecu... How exactly does this product work?

Acet
05-14-2006, 12:14 AM
well actually i can have it done through a guy that doesnt care if it passes its just the paper that they gave me said "The repain must exceed $700 w/o labor in order to re-emission..." Fuck that, I will burn that Jiffy Lube down for $700...I mean cant they hook a sexy 240sx up? It would be no problem for them because its a 1992..

its just a fuel treatment, so im guessing just like a powerfull fuel injector cleaner lol who knows, but it worked.

Acet i say try the stuff and see if it works...or make a buddy at an emmisions place :goodjob: do u have the print out of ur test to see what u failed on. itll help to figure out what u need to get fixed

dude, the 3000gt will never fail u :goodjob: trust me lol

the egr system only really affects ur NOx because it recirculates burnt exhaust back into ur engine to cool it down so it doesnt get above 2500 degrees where it produces the NOx, but it does get clogged a lot and cause a lot of cars to fail...especially acura 3.2 tl's or something. they had a recall on them or something bc they suck and always fuck up bc we had one at the shop one day and it was all sorts of messed up and we ended up having to change like everything on it even the egr valve itself

hell yeah drill holes in a circular matter down the tube (exhaust swirls in the tube) then have it tack welded back.

that stuff in a bottle is nothing but a additive that cleans the carbon out of the motor. So use it like at least a week before the test. Test when the motor is warm, and DONT rev it up, or gun it before the test.

since that car requires a sniffer, focus on getting the cat fixed. I dont know where you live, but i know a guy here in snellvile that will do it cheap.

I live in alpharetta. They told me something about the cat being bad or something. Whats up with those holes tho? what do they do? and where do I drill them?

redlinenprelude

it lets the exhaust gas out under the car, not through the tailpipe..so the sniffer gets less exhaust..

but i woudent do that for real, becase the machine measures what ever ammount is in the exhaust. so it doesnt matter how much exhaust is released.

just replace the cat..
