So I got an offer to sell my water cooling system locally and he picked it up the other day so temporarily I put a spare fan setup in, worked well, but had some extra cash to go pick up some new parts. So I did that today after work, and just got finished installing everything.

Pardon the crappy pics, just shot them real quick as I was going along.

Oooooo what's this

I dont really care for the front part of the case much (just not my style), but the rest of it looks to be bad ass...and it seems to run at a good temp...the question is what do the games look like...:)

Do you know your temps after running 3dmark2k6 before putting the heat sink on?

Wow your running amd with an aftermarket cooler on it. Of course your going to be at 28 deg cel. Try over clocking it and lets see what you run. Get rid of your 7800 oc and get two 6600 gts they will spank a 7800. Just pointers thats all. AMDs overclock very well just FYI.

Im overclocking this week. I have a Venice core processor so it should handle well to the OC. I have no reason to get rid of my 7800oc, since everything runs flawlessly already. Until I start noticing huge amounts of lag in newer games and software, Im perfectly content :D

BTW my old temps at idle were around 35C and under load around 45-49C

Are those readings right? The cpu vcore value of .95 seems really low, unless those new amd's run that low, i dunno for sure.

hell - I need to build myself a new setup this summer - wanna help me out Nemesis? ( I've seriously been out of the loop... at least I got my cooling down - cpu is @ 24C... and on my temp stat that puts it right into the red zone on the cold side :lmao: )

Never been done? Come on now, im a member of Xoxide and many other case modding forums, and Ive seen it all, even the custom built DOOM 3 chassis which was unbelievable. Im not doing this to impress anyone or dump hundreds of dollars into , just making my system a little nicer. There's always going to be haters though. :goodjob:

Yeah, its a Venice 3500+.

that means it's a AMD64 3500+ with the Venice core. there are a couple others like clawhammer and etc. I wanna say clawhammer is the better of the cores.

what you should do is get a cheap ass case. Make your own window with plexiglass. then go from there custom color or graphic. That's true modding. My friend and i did that with a barebone. Took it to our tech drafting area at our high school and cut out a spot for a side panel, then found some plexiglass to cut and made a pretty nice window.

I have a book on case modding

its actually written by the same dude who did the DOOM 3 mod, which was beyond amazing

I might try for it one day... nothing serious YET like the Doom 3 mod, but, hm, maybe painting and added a few aethestics

there's gonna be PC ricers one day, with non-functional water coolers and that :D

Yeah, but thats the thing I have about 3 spare cases that Im wanting to mod, but money is going towards other things right now and I dont have the cutting tools at home. Maybe sometime this summer I might try something drastic, but for now im happy.
