What's the mileage ?

Those are 95 "Style" wheels since the actual ones were 5 lug....

simpsvt97
05-03-2006, 10:11 PM
Yea..the rims were order for the year...The mileage is a lil iffy...since the odometer only goes to 99,999...im guessing around 135k...i know its high but i went to Higgins and let them look at it to see if there were any probs. with the motor...they tuned it up and got it running perfect...like i said...it made 184rwhp and the guy said for that year and being an auto..that was pretty good...no oil leaks or anything..motor is in fine shape i was told....Tommy said the GSP motors are well built and good for at least 500,000 miles

That is a 5.0 car right? For some reason I thought the GHP cars were 351's. Nice looking car other than a few things I personally don't like. I'll let some folks know that might be interested. Good luck with the sale.

Yea....all GSPs were 5.0 HO motors with just some different parts (like the oil cooler). Thanks for the help man

no, HP cars just had the upgraded altenator's, higher speedo's, and larger radiator hoses.

they sold pretty well because they were bone stock Coupe's, which are hard to come by.

I'd buy this thing right now, but it'd sit and rot while I am away....damn shame.

simpsvt97
05-06-2006, 10:36 AM
yea...the alternators were GMC alternators w/ a modded Ford bracket...Ford didnt make one w/ enough volts at the time..it was a 135 amp....i didnt know this until it went out and i had to get it specialty made...but now i got a normal one on there...95amp i believe

also the suspension i believe was beefed up some

no..sold it in 2003 & made $5000 cash off the deal..
then I picked up a 89 5.0 vert 5spd w/ 89k original miles for $2500 bux..took another $1000 and ran 11.0's..
I guess that's the perks of having a brother as a ford mechanic...
so good luck to you but you'd have a better shot at selling it if it was painted one color & removed those shitty ass headlights/taillights & that COBRA knock off wheels
..

Hey news break to you, you can get any fox body car to break into the 11's with some bolt on's and good driver. It's been done time and time again, so that's not some huge accomplishment, and you dont even need a Ford certified mechanic to do it. 302 motor is probably one of the easiest motors to work with. I see nothing wrong with the paint, are you gonna go call out every single mustang with stripes? because that might take some time. Everyone has different tastes in cars. What's wrong with the headlights and corner lights? look fine to me. Tail lights, I dont like...but it's not like you can't find some LX's ones to throw on. As for the body kit, personally I'd rather have it put back to stock and take the wing off. IMO, without the bodykit and wing, and tail lights, it's a pretty sharp coupe. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I wasn't about to be shipped out, it's a heck of a deal and I've yet to meet anyone who's ever bought a mustang and left it exactly the way they bought it.

hey I hear you, I've been around for quite some time in the mustang scene and seen all the fads and trends. It's not a bad car, really it isnt. It's a great starting point I think, and for the price....you could probably sell the wing, body kit, and wheels and end up making money to buy what you want.

Well, wheels were my first purchase, so.... after spendin' $1800 on the wheels and tires, I'm gonna use em a while before I toss em away lol. The 5 lug conversion isn't that big of a deal, I just dont feel like buying new wheels again. Now maybe if I found someone who wanted to straight swap 5 lug wheels for my 4 lugs, I'd think about it... but til then, I'm fine with the "poser" cobra's lol.

or you could have purchased the dual piston calipers from the cobra and really had some performance under the front end...anyhow to each their own but I'm about the stock peformance look...
you know, the one where you really have to look @ the details to find the performance...

..
1st of all...1800 bux for as set of cobra wheels is ABSURD!!!!..you can get them for abotu $700 bux or less if you look in the right places..

anyhow..not to trash your thread...
good luck

$1800 was for the wheels AND tires heh... The Pirelli P7000's were a lil over $150 a piece.. I paid around $1000 for the wheels. I know it wasn't the best price around, I got em at Butler Tire which is always a lil more expensive than other places, but oh well, got no problems with em. Anyways, sorry Simp for the hijack, g'luck with the sale heh.

I'll be nice, since you're from Alabama. If you want to use older technology, then fine and do so, and if you want to spend less money, hey that's your thing.

BUT, it's been done quite a few times using the 99+calipers and spindles...it takes some more work but it's well worth it because you get new dual piston caliper over the single that came in the 94-98 mustangs.

I know exactly what i'm talking about....I turned the wrench on my mustang and if I didnt know how I had a buddy who did know watch me and tell me what to do. I raced and placed in FFW 2 years, and a few events in NMRA. I accomplished that by not having a "shop" do all the work.

thanks for fucking up another mustang. If you would have left it stock how it was you would have no problem getting double that. Nice car though but for the next genius to get a hold of a police edition and wants to customize it, don't and buy a 4 banger to fix up. you'll be glad you did in another 10 years when those cars are pullin in 25+ thousand dollars.

I really dont understand why everyone is harassing him about his car... I mean he didn't do anything thats not reversable... Swap out the taillights and get rid of the spoiler (just prefer a coupe to be wingless lol) and it's back to the state it came in. Atleast as far as I can tell.. *shrug*

simpsvt97
05-13-2006, 12:06 AM
Yea...well i was 16 at the time and didnt think about that. And its not like i ruined the car anyways...like Hyper said....every thing i done is reversable on the car...all you would have to do is take of the kit (held on w/ 3M tape and a few screws), take off the wing and bondo the holes, and then change out the front headlights...i have the stock tailights sitting in my basement. I know this car will be worth at least 20+k in a few years but im just ready to get my Cobra running good...good opportunity to get a car for 5500 and put around 1k for paint and new headlights and sell it for more in a few years

Good luck with the sale. I was seriously considering it and got to snooping around and found a coupe for free. lol. Can't beat that deal. It's a rolling chassis with a bad engine and good tranny. 100% stock. When I told my significant other that I had been inspired to do a mustang coupe by an IA member she wanted to find you and "thank" you personally. lol. Especially since I'm currently rebuilding my other coupe, 99si coupe. I hope everything goes well with the sale and current project.

no prob. man..tell her she is welcome. Mustangs are a good car to rebuild and all. The 5.0 motors are a great and strong motors to build and run some crazy numbers at the track. I would do it, but like ive posted in the past, ive got a Cobra and im going w/ a mod. motor build.

yea...300-350 at the wheels isnt nothing for a 5.0 fox body...man..just make sure you have a good built motor and slap a 125-150 shot and some slicks...be in the 11's easy...my plans for the future is a Vortech S-trim at 7-9 psi, 60# injectors, and a good dyno tune...make around 440 at the wheels..not too bad..haha
