Snakes are definitely out now. I went down to the river to take a walk. You can see a few pics here (http://forums.importatlanta.com/showthread.php?p=74165#post74165). But anyways, I was walking along when I heard something moving beside me. I looked over just in time to see a 3ft. water-moccassin jump at me. WTF!?!? I started backing up and it kept lunging. Finally I moved over to the side and jumped on past me and into the river. HOLY SHIT, MON!

Tell you what. I was more scared than an undercover slob at a Crip party getting found out. That's what I was.

haha, i had a few scares like that when i was a kid... used to always go down to the creek and stuff. one time i was sitting on a rock that was over hanging the creek, like the water was going under the rock. and had my legs hangin' down into the water, then me and my friend see a little fish swimmin' around in front of us a bit and suddenly a snake shoots between my feet and snags the fish... man that shit scared me so much, i jumped from my ass to my feet so quick.

oh, and QD, i've strolled up on a few rattlers out riding my mountain bike in the woods. i found this cool tree stand and when i climbed down, as soon as my foot touched the ground i heard that rattle going. i turned slowly to find a rattlesnake about 2 feet away from my leg looking straight at me. so like any scared whiteboy i jumped my ass back up on the ladder and threw branches at it to make it go away :D.

lol, there's a ranch up in north ga, the R-ranch,and when dad and i used to go fishin in the lakes on their property, i remember dad beat the shit out of a water moccasin with a canoe paddle.

snakes are interstin...i caught a fish once and then used the fish to catch a snake that was swimmin along the edge of the water...hahaha i reeled it right up to the end of the pole and watched it fightin to swim away then cut the line....bet that hook gave him a stomach ache later.....

LOL I hate that. last time I went running by the river with one of my girlfriends and a big ass snake came out in front of me and dead serious I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life. People were staring at us like we were some psycho hard core runners

Yeah a water mocassin will try to defend its territory. If you even back off, it will come at you. So better run. They are really not that fast from what the discovery channel was showing. So you are good even if you walk away from them. but if it is fast, then it aint no water mocassin.

Once when i was at a friends pool right after i got out of the pool while my friend was in the deep end. A damn snake like came out of the drain, swam up from underwater to get some air and darted straight for my friend, lets say i have never seen someone swim so damn fast in my life. They can swim pretty fast too.
