and anyone else that knows. Does anyone know where I can take my fiancee to get an I.U.D and that accepts medicaid. I would greatly appreciate an answer. We tried her OB-GYN but he doesn't do IUDs. any help would be great. thanks.

its another form of contraceptive.

What is an IUD

An Intrauterine Device (IUD) is a small object that is inserted through the cervix and placed in the uterus to prevent pregnancy. A small string hangs down from the IUD into the upper part of the vagina. The IUD is not noticeable during intercourse. IUDs can last 1-10 years. They affect the movements of eggs and sperm to prevent fertilization. They also change the lining of the uterus and prevent implantation. IUDs are 99.2-99.9% effective as birth control. They do not protect against sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS.

Lexi - her ob-gyn is in lawrenceville next to Gwinnett Medical.

Leisa - yea they have different ones now-a-days. I think the one she wants to go with is the copper one because it causes less complications than the Mirena one. It can last up to 12 years and is 99.2-99.9% effective. We just don't want another child until our daughter is at least 5 years old or hell even at least if she is out of diapers lol. But we figure an IUD and condoms should be good. She's tried birth control pills but they made her bleed non-stop and she almost had to go to the hospital because of it, and when she stopped taking the pills it made her more fertile which brought us here being 19 with a almost 2 month old.

We have called the Planned Parenting center in Gwinnett and they are not sure if they will accept medicaid anymore since it is trying to back charge them for previous IUDs done. We will call again on monday since the lady we talked to didn't know too much. But they do do IUDs at $500 a pop and I dont have that kind of money right now thats why we are trying to find a place that takes medicaid.

do you know what you are having yet...you should but the only reason I am asking is cuz my fiancee and I didnt find out until she had the baby. We had 6 ultrasounds and in each one my daughter wouldn't show anything.

congrats on having a boy. My fiancee and I both wanted a boy first but we got a girl. Either way she is our pride and joy.

on another note. The health center in lawrencville does it and we are going through them cuz they accept medicaid.

I believe so I think they also give out free condoms at the health center. you can go to www.ppga.com to find out where the gwinnett one is.
